The last line is very significant. "We could not have done this without you." A murderer can't become a celebrity without the cooperation and complicity of the audience.
@sharic397
Yes, I find Roxie's comment Chilling all the time I hear it.
All the murders, All the fame Around Murderers and the glamour in the courtroom. It sells, the people are enthousiastic for it.
We could not have done it without you.
@yuankun99
That's very true. The songs in this movie are great but if you really pay attention to the story Roxy should be in jail, she committed murder and got away with it. I think that SJW weren't all that active when this movie was made.
@threesisterstrilable
I'm pretty sure everybody gets that Roxie is not a good person, that's the point of the musical right? It doesn't make someone an SJW because they didn't explain the main theme of the story to other people.
@laural3277
i think that's the tragic part of the musical.. Roxie and Velma got away with their murders with a manipulative lawyer who knows how to glamor their murder stories. The Hungarian girl who was in the cell with them was innocent but was executed due to a crime she did not do. It just shows how cruel life can be.
@trinelangohr6661
Haha. And poor Roxie never considered that Velma murdered her last partner... not such a good outlook for the future ;D
@jahangirhussain1
to think that renee had no background in singing and dancing experience, what she achieved with chicago is really something to appreciate.
@jemSnaps
she sang in the movie Empire Records
