Wasting Time
Cats And Crows Lyrics

Stay beautiful
I wish I could have you look at me
the same way you used too
I'll throw my shoes in the lane and run bare foot with you
Wasting time
Watching the sun rise
Nothing is better
Who was right
We used to drive around
Our little uni town
Drinking all night
Together
Whiskey no ice
I'll throw my shoes in the lane and run bare foot with you
Wasting time
Watching the sun rise
Nothing is better
What went wrong
Who was right
In the first verse, the singer pleads with a girl to remain beautiful and to look at them with the same adoration as before. The lyrics suggest a longing for the connection they once shared. The mention of throwing shoes in the lane and running barefoot together indicates a desire to escape responsibilities and obligations, to be carefree and spontaneous. This longing for a simpler, more innocent time is captured in the phrase "wasting time."
The chorus reiterates the theme of wasting time and highlights the beauty of watching the sunrise. The lyrics imply that nothing brings more joy or fulfillment than these moments of shared intimacy and appreciation for the world around them. The question "What went wrong, who was right" suggests a sense of confusion or conflict that has disrupted their relationship. It could be referring to a disagreement or a change in circumstances that has caused distance between them.
In the second verse, the singer reminisces about driving around their university town together, spending nights drinking whiskey without ice. This imagery evokes a sense of freedom and rebellion, as well as nostalgia for the past. The repetition of the line "I'll throw my shoes in the lane and run barefoot with you" emphasizes the desire to escape the constraints of reality and recapture the carefree spirit they once had.
The chorus is repeated again, emphasizing the idea of wasting time and finding solace in the beauty of the sunrise. The unanswered question of what went wrong and who was right continues to hang in the air, adding a sense of unresolved tension to the song. Overall, the lyrics of "Wasting Time" convey a longing for a lost connection, a desire for simplicity and freedom, and a sense of confusion and longing for resolution.

I love this. Have you ever seen the video where an invisible bird ghost it's assumed is messing with a crow on the ground and won't leave it alone until all the crows around get spooked and fly away?

I loved watching them. We have crows here and today I saw one at the top of a tree like a tree topper talking to everything around. He was having a great time and I crowed back at him several times as we talked back and forth

Once a crowd attacked me because I was staring at it for a long time.
And couple of days later at the same spot, remembered me and attacked me again.
It was a very funny experience. I love these animals.
