Saturn
Cavalier Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Lights die
Fireside
Sit next to me (our open hearts speak freely)

Flames cast
These shadows
Hold on you'll see
Take my hand fly with me
Fly with me

Slow down
It's not time
Patience is key (we shouldn't act so suddenly)

Sunrise
With blurred eyes
But still I can see
The future seems so promising
Promise me

We're wasting precious time

Let's leave those rules behind
Saturn take us home (wherever home may be)

Overall Meaning

The song Saturn by Cavalier has a deeper meaning that can be interpreted in multiple ways. The opening lines "Lights die, Fireside, Sit next to me (our open hearts speak freely)" could be an indication of a couple enjoying each other's company by the side of a fire. It could also mean two people having a soulful conversation as they sit in front of the dying embers of a fire. The reference to the open hearts could be a way of saying that they trust each other and have a deeper connection.

The second part of the verse that says, "Flames cast, These shadows, Hold on you'll see, Take my hand fly with me" has a more profound meaning. It could be interpreted to be a plea from one person to the other to hold on and have faith. The shadows could also represent the obstacles that they may face, but the emotions they share will help them overcome any obstacles. The reference to flying together could be an indication of the leap of faith that they will take together.

The chorus that says, "We're wasting precious time, Let's leave those rules behind, Saturn take us home (wherever home may be)" could mean that they want to make the most of the time they have now and not waste it. They are ready to leave behind any restrictions that they may have faced before and take a leap of faith together. The reference to Saturn could be because of its significance in astrology, as a bringer of change and opportunities. It could also be an indication of a place they wish to be or a journey that they want to take together.

I bought one new in 1996 and last drove it a few minutes ago. It has 255k miles on the original engine and all cylinders still have like new compression.
The 1996 SC2 was the last year it had a shorter wheelbase than the SL and SW. The S series Saturns:
-Stainless steel exhaust
-Timing CHAINS, not belts
-Nonmetal body panels that dont corrode or warp, but can crack if hit hard enough in an impact. No parking dents.
-The most amazingly awesome factory service manuals you will ever read.
-Modular construction that makes it easy to service. (You can actually drop the entire engine and drivetrain on the front wheels out the bottom of the car. )
-Theft proof ( no one wants it )
35mpg
-Cheap parts widely available
-Never die unless killed.

I dated a girl that thought a VW Fox was a Japanese car. For some reason she didn't like Germans because of WWII. I explained to her the whole Hitler thing and VW and all that. She then said she wanted to sell her Fox and get a Japanese car. Since she was all hung up on WWII, I explained to her the whole Nanking Massacre, Bataan Death March, thing and she broke down crying. She was a little 'tupid.

Push Back well fuck, tell her she couldn’t buy American either due to the slave trade, genocide of indigenous people, invasion of foreign countries, etc.

@ferdinand12390

Push Back well, she could have only an organic bamboo bicycle then, no country would be safe from her guilt

@Robert-jv4hf
