Celtic Woman was recorded on September 15, 2004 for PBS Television in The United States at The Helix, Dublin to a sell-out audience. The show was organized by show producer Sharone Browne and musical director and composer David Downes, and produced by Dave Kavanagh. The show was first broadcast in March 2005 in The United States and within weeks the album Celtic Woman reached number one in the World Music charts in America and on Amazon.com charts. Their huge success in Asia and in America has been credited to the already successful megastar Enya and has been called "Riverdance for the Voice". As of July 22, 2006 the group has broken a long standing record in the music business. Their CD has been at the #1 position on the Billboard charts for an amazing 68 weeks.
On October 19th of that year, Celtic Woman was knocked off its No.1 spot on Billboard's World Music Charts, which it had maintained for 82 weeks, by Celtic Woman: A Christmas Celebration. This put the groups' 2 CDs at Nos. 1 and 2 respectively. Since then, Lisa Lambe has left the group to pursue a solo career.
Walking in the Air

Floating in the air
We're walking in the air
We're floating in the moonlit sky
The people far below are sleeping as we fly
We're holding very tight
I'm finding I can fly so high above with you
Far across the world
The villages go by like trees
The rivers and the hills
The forest and the streams
Children gaze open mouth
Taken by surprise
Nobody down below believes their eyes
We're surfing in the air
We're swimming in the frozen sky
We're drifting over icy
Mountains floating by
Suddenly swooping low on an ocean deep
Arousing of a mighty monster from its sleep
We're walking in the air
We're dancing in the midnight sky
And everyone who sees us greets us as we fly
The song "Walking in the Air" by Celtic Woman is a beautiful and ethereal composition that captures the feeling of flying in the sky. The lyrics describe the experience of floating through the moonlit sky, with the people far below sleeping as the singer and their companion soar above. The sense of excitement and wonder is palpable as the two beings glide over villages, rivers, hills, forests, and streams. Even the children who catch a glimpse of them are taken aback, hardly daring to believe their own eyes.
But it's not all calm and serene. Toward the end of the song, the mood takes a turn as the two fliers encounter a "mighty monster" lurking in the depths of the ocean. The sudden shift in tone is jarring, but it also adds a note of danger and adventure to the otherwise idyllic scene. Throughout the song, the singer emphasizes the sense of camaraderie and togetherness between themselves and their flying companion, creating a feeling of unity and harmony that's fitting for the soaring, dreamlike soundscape.
Overall, "Walking in the Air" is a stunning and evocative song that captures the thrill and beauty of flying high above the earth. Its lush melodies and lyrics create an atmosphere of peace and wonder that's sure to transport listeners to another world.

Walking in the air, floating the sky
Gliding through the atmosphere without need for wings
We're walking in the air

We're floating in the moonlit sky
Drifting weightlessly in a bright, silver sky
The people far below are sleeping as we fly
Those on the ground are unaware of our freedom in the air

You have helped me discover a rare power to rise above the world
Far across the world
Distant land masses disappear beneath our lofty perspective

Countryside settlements look no larger than the small, green flora below
The rivers and the hills
Bodies of water and rising landscapes are swept past
The forest and the streams
Woodlands and narrow channels flow calmly under us

Young ones stare in awe, jaws agape
Taken by surprise
Shocked and amazed to see our airborne sight
Nobody down below believes their eyes
The ground-dwellers can hardly comprehend what they are witnessing
We're surfing in the air
We're gliding on invisible waves that pass overhead
We're swimming in the frozen sky
We're paddling through a cold, wintry expanse high above
We're drifting over icy
We're moving lazily past ice formations
Mountains floating by
Huge land masses below us appear deceptively light and airy
Suddenly swooping low on an ocean deep
We drop suddenly towards the sea's deep blue surface
Arousing of a mighty monster from its sleep
An impressive sea creature stirs from slumber as we pass over it
We're walking in the air
We're journeying through the upper atmosphere, a rare experience
We're dancing in the midnight sky
We are reveling in the joy of flight amid a clear, starry backdrop

This song is unlike any other. Most songs are about love or broken hearts, but this is truly unique. Instead of sadness and longing, freedom is the dominant feeling. This song unlocks the door to the imagination, and you discover a whole new world.

This brings tears to my eyes.. memories of being homeschooled with my mom, listening to this music daydreaming I was living in Hogwarts. Magical times. My mom made my life so happy- these are magical memories I have, I am brought back by music like this almost instantly.
