- A defunct progressive metalcore band from Brighton, UK, who released an EP 'One Hundred'. Centurion made quite a mark on their home turf and beyond, swinging their hefty, death plated punch at the heads of grateful punters nationwide at shows alongside their aforementioned townsmen, as well as the likes of Horse The Band, Ephel Duath and Every Time I Die. Centurion also toured as main support to acclaimed British crew Bring Me The Horizon, and were flown over to Sweden to play at the 2006 Treasurefest alongside the likes of Purified In Blood and Jeniferever.
Centurion offered up a thick stew of hyper-aggressive riffing and mammoth grooves, splicing the mix with flashes of accomplished technicality and vehement vocal bile, yet the quintet manage to retain an irresistible mood of energy and, dare it be said, fun in their live performance.
With press plaudits already flowing and a solid fanbase built, Centurion raised their game, their r debut E.P ‘One Hundred’ an unrelenting metallic drama that swings between ferocious and epic with a masterful ease. ‘One Hundred’ caught the attention of respected UK label In At The Deep End (Gallows, Architects, Send More Paramedics), and the label will be unleashing the E.P in early 2007. Centurion also hit the road again in January as support to Japanese metalcore crew Versus The Night, and opened for hometown compadres Architects and Canadian newcomers The Gorgeous on selected dates of their UK trek.

They sing high as they move through the fields of ceremony, blasting millions of bombs to reach full growth. The storm is closing in, but they hold strong, killing off any opposition with no remorse. They are dazzled by the rapture of pride and believe that they are supermen born to win. They see themselves as breaking free from their slavery and bringing forth a new world.

Следующий Non Plus Ultra был слишком пауэр-металлическим, на мой вкус, но этот может легко дать нам кое-что, чтобы насладиться, по крайней мере, если вы увлекаетесь такой музыкой.
Итак, мы начинаем со странного, полного бластбитов, интро на ковре из эпических/мрачных звуков, которые заканчиваются взрывом в начале лучшего трека альбома «Deflagration of Violence». Бас-барабан интенсивно используется и стучит, сохраняя скорость на протяжении большей части песни. Постановка очень четкая и мощная, и вы очень хорошо слышите инструменты, от баса до гитар. Вокал мощный с идеальной смесью скримов аля UDO или иногда аля Роба Хэлфорда с некоторыми интермеццо рычания. Они странные, но вовсе не такие уж и плохие. Соло довольно простые, но хорошо исполненные, а в заглавном треке мощь ритм-гитар взрывается смесью быстрых темповых и грувовых партий. В этот раз мощь прекрасно выражена и во время припева с постоянным смешением разного рода вокала, который в любом случае не раздражает. Вы действительно можете услышать энергию группы в этих двух треках. Они разрушительны.
Лирика всегда о прошлом, в основном о Римской империи, поскольку группа из Рима. Влияние спид-метала идет рука об руку с трэш-металом и оттенком дэт-метала, когда темп более быстрый и полный рычащего вокала. Это изменение вокала может быть трудно воспринято большей частью слушателей, но я думаю, что, когда оно не вторгается, хорошо изменить атмосферу и наполнить ее мрачными партиями. Они хорошо контрастируют с более мелодичными соло и спид/трэшевыми партиями. «Katerpillar» во многом вдохновлен Judas Priest с большим количеством фальцетных партий и медленных, тяжелых темповых партий. Арпеджио придают этой песне больше неясности.
Название «Monolithic Triumphator» идеально отражает стиль их музыки. Мы можем найти разрушительные партии с приглушением ладоней и невероятные динамические структуры, где соло идеально застревают в различных остановках и движениях, а ударные внезапно перезапускают темп. В «Into the Arena» и «Stormfront Vanguard» есть быстрые, но чрезвычайно запоминающиеся риффы, которые суммируют все влияния на этом компакт-диске.
