(1) Challenger Deep is an atmospheric metal band from Minsk, Belarus in 2009. The band comprises vocalist Anton Bondarenko (ex-Frequence Diversity, Mulct), guitar-player Anton Berezovskiy (ex-Anna Coralie, ex-Frequence Diversity, Roddone), Alexander Stepanenko (Marie Chante) on the second guitar, drummer Sergey Golovach (ex-Ronin Diem) and bass-player Evgeniy Danilov (ex-Ronin Diem). As for now the band has released two full-length albums, expanding their musical borders from early atmospheric post-hardcore and post-rock riffs to later melancholic multi-layered metal songs, yet maintaining unusual style with rich instrumental part and powerful, aggressive vocals.
After three years since the release of the first album entitled «Our Own Prisons» (Dominance Records, Self-Released) and many shows and hard studio work, Challenger Deep has released it’s space album «Irreversible» in April 2014 on independent label «TRVS Records». Putting huge conceptual efforts, it took almost 2 years to complete and represent the picture of a melancholic face of destructive human activity, which destroys each piece of light on it's way.
Challenger Deep is an uncommercial band, which is always open to all people without racial, sexual (and etc.) prejudices.
The band is currently working hard on new material for the upcoming album and planning to go an European tour in Autumn 2015.
(2) Challenger Deep is an instrumental rock four-piece boy band out of Atlanta, Georgia for fans of artists like The Fall of Troy, Protest The Hero, Chon, Polyphia, Plini & Intervals. Their latest release, The Stuff of Legends" released Oct. 29th, 2021.

Infinity
Challenger Deep Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Through the dark forest, through the gray yarn of despair.
It's so hard to hope…
Clinging with my teeth to the last moment.
Facing my own grave... Down on knees...
Only orphaned trees will sing
Drowned forever,
Which felt to ashes
In the infinity of universe.
The truth will resurrect as blood from the eyes.
When we'll be tired of watching
The fire of funeral pyre.
Where our dreams are smoldering,
Are cutting the illusion of reality...
Only tears will remain the naive hope,
Turned inside out
Before my last sigh…
And everything will disappear...
The opening stanza of Challenger Deep's song Infinity depicts a sense of desperation and weariness as the singer runs barefoot through a dark forest. The use of the metaphor "gray yarn of despair" creates a tangible image of the hopelessness weighing on the singer. Despite the difficult circumstances, the singer clings to the last shred of hope, displaying admirable perseverance in the face of adversity. The mention of facing their own grave while on their knees reinforces the themes of mortality and fragility. The singer then suggests that only the orphaned trees will bear witness to their eventual demise, a poignant commentary on how we often face our fears alone. The reference to a callous belief drowned forever in the infinity of the universe adds depth to the song by touching on themes of faith and human insignificance.
The next stanza of the song contrasts with the first, shifting from an external perspective to an introspective one. The truth is said to resurrect "as blood from the eyes" of the singer, implying that they will have suffered greatly in order to uncover it. The fire of a funeral pyre is mentioned, suggesting a death or a sacrifice of some kind. The dreams are smoldering, cutting the illusion of reality, hinting at the concept of disillusionment. The final lines of the song describe a sense of despair as naive hope turns to tears before the singer's final breath. The image of everything disappearing creates a sense of finality, as if the ultimate end has arrived. The song as a whole explores themes of perseverance in the face of adversity, the fleeting nature of existence, and the insurmountable enormity of the universe.
