Sun Goes Down
Chance Peña Lyrics

Feelin' free and there's no one around
Tell myself to keep trusting you
But I never want to hear the truth
Where you at when the sun goes down
When the sun goes down
Oh there's no one around
When the sun goes down
Got nowhere to go
Let's both lose control
Just you and me
When the sun goes down
When the sun goes down
When the sun goes down
Faithfulness is attractive,
Don't push and pull like elastic
It's a muscle, like a habit
Yeah, you know I gotta have it, mm mm
Don't want to call this misbehavior, but I have to
Better now than later, mm
Won't you hear me out
Oh please don't let me down
You're the best that I have found
And I don't want to lose you, lose you, lose you
When the sun goes down
Oh there's no one around
Just you and me
When the sun goes down
Got nowhere to go
Let's both lose control
Just you and me
When the sun goes down
When the sun goes down
When the sun goes down
Won't you hear me out
Please don't let me down
You're the best that I have found
And I don't want to lose you, lose you, lose you
When the sun goes down
Oh there's no one around
Just you and me
When the sun goes down
Got nowhere to go
Let's both lose control
Just you and me
When the sun goes down
When the sun goes down
When the sun goes down
In Chance Peña's song Sun Goes Down, the lyrics describe the feeling of being alone with someone else when the sun goes down. The singer of the song is asking their partner where they are during these moments, feeling free and without any disruptions. They express trust in their partner, although they also confess to not wanting to hear the truth. The chorus repeats the phrase "when the sun goes down," emphasizing the peaceful, intimate moments shared with this person.
The bridge of the song speaks of the importance of faithfulness within a relationship, comparing it to a muscle that must be consistently exercised. The singer admits to some misbehavior, but asks for forgiveness and understanding. The final chorus is a repetition of the prior lyrics, asking the partner to hear their plea and not let them go.
Overall, Sun Goes Down captures the feeling of intimacy and connection that can be found in quiet moments with a loved one. The lyrics speak of trust and desire to keep a relationship strong, even in moments of imperfection.
