Sanctuary
Charles Esten & Lennon & Maisy Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Turn the light off, go to bed
Tell me all about the day you had
Lay beside me, it's time to rest
You can close your eyes, you've done your best

Let me be your sanctuary
Let me be your safe place to fall
I can take away your worries
The refuge from it all

All this time
We have together
Is our shelter from the rain
I will share the weight you carry
Let me be your sanctuary

We have weathered through the storms
Taking comfort in each other's arms
When the dark clouds come again
I will lift you up and take you in

Let me be your sanctuary
Let me be your safe place to fall
I can take away your worries
The refuge from it all

All this time
We have together
Is our shelter from the rain
I will share the weight you carry
Let me be your sanctuary

I will share this weight you carry
Let me be your sanctuary

Damn. This scene deserves an oscar.

I know Connie Britton is still alive

but the way they acted her death and tribute here...

makes me feel so sad...

it's like a part of the show DIED.

And this scene just shows the peak of Rayna's legacy in the show.

So emotional.

Brilliant acting.

God bless you all Nashville cast!

@elliesomers

this for me is one of lennon’s best scenes in the show. she sings the song with such emotion and sadness, and when she turns around to look at the picture of rayna and bursts into tears. this show deserved so much more. they all deserved so much more as actors.

This was the last episode I watched, I cried so hard, I couldn’t watch anymore. I know it’s just a tv show but the writers worked hard at making us cheer for Deacon and Rayna to get together that it ticked me off that this happened! A good friend of mine keeps bugging me to finish the series, but I don’t want to cry this hard again! 🤣

@elliesomers

@@myrnashoults9735 this was definitely such an upsetting storyline... there was definitely plenty of shouting and crying at the television from my house when we were watching it 😭 but even though it might be so hard to picture the show without rayna in it i really do encourage you to finish it, the rest of the show is just as beautiful and well done and i think you should 100% finish it! listen to your friend 😭

@@elliesomers thank you. I am going to starting tonight. I live for this show at 1:00 am! Rayna’s funeral was beautifully done. I don’t think they were acting….I think they were hurting. I loved it when Teddy went to Deacon and made peace. Can’t wait to see the rest of the series.❤️

@@myrnashoults9735 I think you should give it a shot. I love this show and going to watch the whole series over again. My mom died 6 months ago and I played it for her a few times. She loved it and wanted it played at her funeral but my brother said no
