By the age of two, I had already ventured onto the piano bench and began creating distinguishable melodies (according to my mother). That paid off later in kindergarten. The teacher noticed that I enjoyed playing the piano and invited me to accompany the class for music time. Not much of a paying gig, but it kept me out of trouble.
My biggest fans were my parents. They kept me motivated to play (practice, practice, ...), and also encouraged me to pursue art and writing. Many of our family excursions included concerts, plays and music/art related events, most of which were held at Fullerton Union High School's Plummer Auditorium, Fullerton College or Cal State Fullerton. It was an honor to end up playing the piano and trumpet on stage at Fullerton High School years later.
Terry Blackley, my Fullerton Union High School Band Director, challenged me to compose and arrange music for marching band and studio jazz band. I am thankful for his guidance and inspiration. To standard Terry set for me to "do the best that you can do" lives on. My children are now studying music, art and are involved in performance-related activities. The "Blackley Effect" continues on .........
Following graduation, I attended the University of Redlands, studying music composition under Dr. Barney Childs. Professor James R. Jorgensen was my band director ..... including a very cool Studio Jazz Band program that he operated at the level I experienced at Fullerton under Terry. For the next few years, I was immersed in Jazz Band concerts, festivals and gigs that Prof. Jorgensen lined up for the band. Funny how things contribute to a bigger picture when you really enjoy what you do. It all adds up to my continued pursuit of helping and encouraging others in the Music, Art and Writing fields.
In addition to recording CDs, I produce other artists, write soundtrack music, produce audio tracks for read-along storybooks, develop and perform sound effects, ... and play on a cool worship team on Sunday mornings.
Performing music that is relaxing and encouraging to others is what I enjoy the most, whether it is for a soundtrack, special gathering or worship service. To translate emotions into music is an amazing process and a rewarding experience. My goal as a composer and performer is to successfully guide the listener/viewer on a journey that brings them back safely home. Enjoy the music!
If you remember a teacher or someone who encouraged you early on in the Arts, hunt them down and thank them!
Band interests
Bands. Hmm? I prefer to perform as a support artist, crafting strings, pads and ambience that supports the spotlight artist. Given the opportunity, I enjoy performing close, engaging with the audience and listener .... house concerts, or improving a persons name into a song on stage is fun. Playing in the deep of a redwood forest would be cool. Emotionally connecting with person or nature, using a keyboard to reach the heart is what I enjoy the most. Okay, I had better end it here ..... starting to get emotional and I am hearing another song! Thanks for reading this. Please contact me, regarding sheet music, new songs, a performance in your area, etc. It is all in the works. :o)

Charlie Sneller Lyrics

Mary did you know that your baby boy will save our sons and daughters?
Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new?
This child that you've delivered, will soon deliver you.
Mary did you know that your baby boy will give sight to a blind man?
Mary did you know that your baby boy will calm a storm with his hand?
Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
Oh Mary did you know
The blind will see, the deaf will hear, the dead will live again.
The lame will leap, the dumb will speak, the praises of the lamb
Mary did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary did you know that your baby boy would one day rule the nations?
Did you know that your baby boy is heaven's perfect Lamb?
This sleeping child you're holding is the great I am
These lyrics are a tribute to Mary, the mother of Jesus, and her unique experience as the mother of the Son of God. The song poses many rhetorical questions to Mary, asking if she realized the incredible things her baby boy would go on to do. The first verse asks if Mary knew that her son would walk on water and save people's souls, while also bringing new life to her own. It highlights the transformative power of Jesus' life and message, and how these actions were beyond what anyone could have ever imagined.
The second verse emphasizes the miraculous healing powers of Jesus, including giving sight to the blind and calming storms with a simple gesture. This was a way to demonstrate to Mary just how extraordinary her child was and how he was capable of things that were beyond human comprehension. The last verse brings the focus back to Jesus' divinity, asking if Mary knew that her baby boy would one day rule the nations and be considered the perfect Lamb of heaven. It's a reminder that even though Mary was the mother of Jesus, he was ultimately a divine being with an important mission to fulfill.
