By 2017, several of Cutler's songs (including "Your Shirt") garnered numerous streams and led to collaborations that year with acts like Louis The Child ("Slow Down Love"), ayokay ("The Shine"), Kidswaste ("Tonight"), and Kasbo ("Found You"). She signed a record deal with Ultra Records in late 2017 and released her first EP, "Snow In October". After touring with Quinn XCII in early 2018, Cutler released two independent mixtapes, "Sleeping With Roses" and "Sleeping With Roses II." She also went on her first two nationwide headlining tours in support of each mixtape, both of which sold out in advance.
In March 2019, she signed to Republic Records and released a joint EP, "brent", with friend and label-mate Jeremy Zucker shortly after. The EP features the single "you were good to me", which they performed live on The Today Show. It was also pressed on a limited edition white vinyl through the retailer Urban Outfitters. It was limited to a run of 1000 copies pressed. In May 2019, Cutler collaborated with Kygo on the single, "Not OK". It became her third collaboration (after "Slow Down Love" and "The Shine") to appear on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Songs chart, peaking at number 9.
In late 2019, Cutler began releasing new singles, including "How To Be Human" and "Lucky" (featuring Alexander 23). Along with "Sad Tonight", the songs served as the primary singles for her debut studio album, How To Be Human, released on January 17, 2020 by Republic Records. On January 23, 2020 she performed the lead single, "Sad Tonight", on Late Night With Seth Meyers. That song became Cutler's first entry on the Billboard Mainstream Top 40 airplay chart, peaking at number 32 in March 2020. In April 2020, she was featured alongside Quinn XCII on the Louis The Child track, "Little Things".
Cutler was also slated to perform at Coachella 2020, which was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In June 2020, she released a version of her song "Crazier Things" which features Noah Kahan.

Someone Else's Heaven
Chelsea Cutler Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
So many people would kill for this life that you call surviving
So don't forget it
Your hell is someone else's heaven
You've got best friends who say they can't keep their heads above water
You're worried 'cause you got waitlisted at your dad's alma mater
Baby, don't sweat it, yeah
You're havin' someone else's heaven
Who cares if we ever get there?
What you have is good pain
You don't need to compare
So when you're lookin' back
Wonderin' what you used to have
We don't have to live like that
I learned my lesson
Your hell is someone else's heaven
Your hell is someone else's heaven
You can't remember your last physical appointment
We take our heartbeat for granted until someone we love doesn't
So don't forget it, yeah
Your hell is someone else's heaven (oh yeah, yeah, yeah)
Haven't talked to your parents because you're still so mad at 'em
You don't realize how lucky you even are just to have 'em
Baby, don't sweat it (no, no, no)
Your hell is someone else's heaven
Who cares if we ever get there?
What you have is good pain
You don't need to compare
So when you're lookin' back
Wonderin' what you used to have
We don't have to live like that
I learned my lesson
Your hell is someone else's heaven
(Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah)
Your hell is someone else's heaven
(Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah)
Your hell is someone else's heaven
In "Someone Else's Heaven" by Chelsea Cutler, the lyrics delve into the idea of perspective and gratitude. The song begins by addressing the singer's hardships, symbolized by the worn-out Toyota they drive. However, the lyrics highlight that despite their struggles, there are many others who would yearn for the life the singer considers survival. The message is clear - amidst the challenges, it is important to remember that one person's "hell" is another's "heaven."
The lyrics continue by emphasizing the singer's worries and insecurities. They mention having friends who struggle to stay afloat and feeling anxious about being waitlisted at their father's alma mater. Nevertheless, the song urges the singer not to fret, as their current circumstances might be someone else's idea of paradise.
The chorus serves as a reminder for the singer, and perhaps the listener as well, not to compare themselves to others. The lyrics suggest that it is unnecessary to constantly strive for a different destination, as what one already possesses can bring contentment. Looking back on what used to be or yearning for what others have is futile; instead, the vital lesson to be learned is appreciating what is already present.
The song concludes by addressing the audience directly, reinforcing the concept that our individual struggles may pale in comparison to those faced by others. The lyrics refer to neglected physical appointments, reminding the listener not to take their health for granted. Additionally, the song emphasizes the importance of cherishing relationships with loved ones, even when there are disagreements or frustrations.
In summary, "Someone Else's Heaven" is a thought-provoking song that conveys the message of appreciating one's life despite its challenges. It encourages listeners to avoid comparing themselves to others and to recognize that what may be considered a "hell" to one person could be another's "heaven."

Facts: Chelsea never wrote a bad song
ᴢᴀᴄʜ≡ʀʏ
I feel this is one of your strongest songs YET as far as writing goes. It isn't the typical song about a relationship. We could write those all day, but this: This is genius.
Keep working hard, that's how you got here, that's how you'll keep rising <3
