The first few lines of the song instantly give us the impression of loneliness and being stuck in a rut. Cheryl sings about how we all have days like that, where we feel like we're going through the motions, and nothing exciting is happening in our life. The only positive in this scenario is the shining sun, after all the darkness, and gloom represents hope and new beginnings. She even questions if that's all there is to her life, now that she's over someone who clearly had her under their grip. But a new-found sobriety makes her feel alive, and she's learned not to give her heart so easily- after all, it doesn't break twice.
The chorus shows someone approaching Cheryl, trying to convince her of something, likely an attempt to rekindle a past relationship. They're making her feel special and their only priority, but normally she'd run away from this type of attention, and the situation becomes intriguing under the sun- a dramatic shift from the mundane life, she has described till now. Cheryl cole is absolutely perfect. My idol since I watched her audition for Popstars. Being a Geordie myself means that we are very proud of our own and so we should be. I've seen her in concert twice and she is absolutely PHENOMENAL.
