Together with Owen Bradley, Atkins created the smoother country music style known as the Nashville sound, which expanded country music's appeal to include adult pop music fans as well. His virtuoso picking style - inspired by Merle Travis, Django Reinhardt, George Barnes and Les Paul - brought him admirers both within and outside the country scene. Atkins produced records for Eddy Arnold, Don Gibson, Jim Reeves, Jerry Reed, Connie Smith, and Waylon Jennings.

The part at 1:23 is the work of a pure genious. Notice how he emphasizes the melody notes and mutes the bass and all in between picks flawless arpeggios with some other fingers, and then uses his pinky to use the bigsby. Unbelievable. How did he do it? I will never know.

I have the album they made together........to me Hank Snows style of playing was so much better than Atkins.......to me the best song Chet Atkins was not an instrumental at all, instead it was Atkins singing about his Dad as he remembered him and how he tried to be like him....a great song and perfectly done by Atkins.
