He's the Greatest Dancer
Chic & Sister Sledge Lyrics

He's the greatest dancer
Oh what, wow
That I've ever seen
Oh what, wow
He's the greatest dancer
Oh what, wow
One night in a disco on the outskirts of Frisco
I was cruisin' with my favorite gang
The place was so borin', filled with out-of-towners tourin'
I knew that it wasn't my thing
I really wasn't carin' but I felt my eyes starin'
At a guy who stuck out in the crowd
He had the kind of body that would shame Adonis
And a face that would make any man proud
Oh what, wow
He's the greatest dancer
Oh what, wow
That I've ever seen
Oh what, wow
He's the greatest dancer
Oh what, wow
The champion of dance, his moves would put you in a trance
And he never leaves the disco alone
Arrogance but not conceit as a man he is complete
My crème de la crème, please take me home
He wears the finest clothes, the best designers, heaven knows
Ooo, from his head down to his toes
Halston, Gucci, Fiorucci, he looks like a still
That man is dressed to kill
Oh what, wow
He's the greatest dancer
Oh what, wow
That I've ever seen
(I've ever seen)
Oh what, wow
He's the greatest dancer
Oh what, wow
Oh what, wow
He's the greatest dancer
Oh what, wow
That I've ever seen
(I love your moves)
Oh what, wow
He's the greatest dancer
Oh what, wow
That I've ever seen
Oh what, wow
He's the greatest dancer
Oh what, wow
That I've ever seen
(I've ever seen)
Oh what, wow
He's the greatest dancer
Oh what, wow
Oh what, wow
He's the greatest dancer
Oh what, wow
That I've ever seen
(I love your moves)
Oh what, wow
He's the greatest dancer
Oh what, wow
That I've ever seen
The lyrics of Chic & Sister Sledge's song "He's the Greatest Dancer" describe the singer's experience at a disco where they are surrounded by boring and unremarkable people until they spot a man who catches their attention. The man is described as having a flawless physique that would put Adonis to shame and a face that would make any man proud. The singer is in awe of the man's dancing abilities, which put everyone around him in a trance. The man is also described as being impeccably dressed in designer clothes from head to toe, and he never leaves the disco alone.
The song is a celebration of dance, fashion, and overall greatness. The singer is enamored with the man they see at the disco because he seems to embody everything they find impressive and admirable. The lyrics are straightforward and filled with hyperbole, making it clear that the man the singer saw is, without a doubt, the greatest dancer they have ever seen. The repetition of the phrase "Oh what, wow" further emphasizes the singer's admiration and amazement at the man's abilities.
Overall, "He's the Greatest Dancer" is a fun and upbeat song that celebrates individuality, style, and talent, and encourages listeners to let loose and dance their cares away.

Nile Rodgers is a genius. He wrote, composed and produced this song - among many others - and his guitar skills are legendary. One of the best rhythm guitarists I know of. I whish I had only a 10th of that feel for the groove.
