Party Girl
Chinawoman Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

It doesn't matter what you create
If you have no fun
Pretty girl, put down your pen
Come over here
I'll show you how it's done

I can dance
I can drink
In the dark
It's all a trick

Across the room
Across the street
I'm in the moment
Can't you see

I'm a party girl
Do a twirl
See my eyes throw a glance
Can't you tell I'm a natural
Life of a party girl
Funny girl
Make you laugh
Want me bad
Now I feel so much better

In the back of a car
I just met them tonight
And I feel like such a star

What's your name
What's your art
Nobody knows
About my broken heart

Yes I'm a party girl
Crazy girl
See my lips how they move
Can't you see I'm a natural
Life of a party girl
Sexy girl
I used to be so fragile
But now I'm so wild

What did you do last night?
Oh I was out so late now I'm so tired

I used to cry
But now I don't have the time

I used to be so fragile
But now I'm so wild

Overall Meaning

The song "Party Girl" by Chinawoman is about a woman who portrays herself as a fun-loving and carefree party girl. She addresses a pretty girl with a pen, telling her that it doesn't matter what she creates if she isn't having fun. The singer then invites the pretty girl to join her and shows her how to have a good time. The song's first stanza suggests that being creative is not enough unless one also has fun. The singer then reveals that she can dance and drink, but it's all an illusion in the dark. She is in the moment and appears to enjoy life to the fullest. She calls herself a natural party girl, ready to make people laugh and feel good.

In the second stanza, the singer reveals that she has just met someone, and she feels like a star in the back of a car. She doesn't reveal her broken heart to anyone and keeps it a secret. She then calls herself a crazy and sexy party girl, suggesting that she is living her life to the fullest and enjoying every moment. She has no time to cry anymore and has embraced her wild side.

The song's overall message is that life is too short to worry, be sad, or keep your head down. Instead, the singer invites the pretty girl to join her and live life joyfully in the present moment. She portrays herself as someone who can show the pretty girl the way, to be a natural party girl, have fun, and experience life's spontaneity.

This song is actually really deep psychologically. The need for approval, the need to be loved by other people, to be famous, to be a star is such a monster, it turns you to a worm.

@WardenRian

this song while its supposed to be about partying, has a really sad feel to it. its like she is trying to convince herself that she is having fun while shes just looking for an escape from all her problems or her traumas. It kinda reminds me of mitsuko souma..
