She is best known for being one half of the musical duo Chloe x Halle with her younger sister Halle Bailey.

In August 2021, Bailey announced the release of her debut solo single, "Have Mercy", as the lead single off her upcoming debut solo studio album. She had teased the Murda Beatz-produced song numerous times before. Bailey is set to perform "Have Mercy" at the main show of the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards on September 12. In August 2021, she revealed that the album was "90% done" and that it is more pop-oriented.

In March 2022, Bailey revealed in a tweet that her album was finished a few weeks prior, and would go on to release her second single, "Treat Me" on April 8th 2022.

As commented below, I don’t think it’s her confidence that people dislike, and I doubt she’s confident for the same reasons mentioned above. I think it’s the over sexualisation that drive some people to be mean to her, it’s like a trope every artist falls in today and i think people are getting tired of it, it’s too much and it’s all the time and it’s deja vu, it has become the only thing artists want to illustrate in their clips or on stage.
I personally dislike it, I find it aggressive and just too much porn culture inspired, and porn can be too aggressive for certain people and just unpleasant to watch.
Now that’s just my humble opinion, but I found out many people about my age feel the same. I personally never got interested in her despite liking some songs from Chloe x Halle, I preferred Halle because she seemed classy and not in need of attention. HOWEVER, I accidentally heard one of Chloe’s solo songs and I just realised how unique her voice is. It’s a shame that Halle gets all the attention because truly both are gifted as hell ! But the image Chloe displays of herself didn’t make me want to hear about her.
Now I find her to be one if not the most promising artist of her generation. Vocally gifted, great dancer, great performer and definitely a hard worker. She has it all !
I wish her lots of success and I just can’t wait to see her grow as an artist, mesmerising voice !

I think you should ask yourself why is it that the media wants to portray black women especially this way. Almost completely naked, degrading herself, being leered at on a table like a roasted turkey... Do you see Taylor Swift, Adele, or Camila Cabello doing all that?
