Like I said I would
Every night I lay with two or three
Got me feeling good
Didn't want it to be over when you told me it was over
Baby, now I'm getting under somebody
All I wanted was to know love, now these hoes ain't getting no love
Baby, you made me this way
I got you to thank, I got you to thank
Baby, you made me this way
I got you to thank 'cause I'm not the same, no
Uh huh, baby, uh huh, yeah, yeah
You made me this way, no
Uh huh, baby, uh huh, yeah, yeah
You make me this way
This ain't what I thought I wanted, babe (oh, woah)
Until you were gone, yeah (until you were gone)
I'd be crazy to ever complain (yeah, don't, baby)
'Cause I don't sleep alone, baby ('cause I don't sleep alone)

In "This Way," Chris Brown reflects on his current lifestyle and attitude towards relationships following a breakup. He acknowledges that he has been living freely and indulging in casual relationships with multiple partners, which has made him feel good. He admits that when the breakup was initially communicated to him, he didn't want it to be over, but now he is moving on by getting intimate with someone else. He mentions that all he wanted was to experience love, but now he feels detached from emotional connections and is focused on enjoying himself through partying and drinking.
The chorus emphasizes that the person he was in the past, who desired and pursued love, no longer exists. He credits the person who broke his heart with making him the way he is now, implying that their actions have shaped him into a more detached and carefree individual in relationships. The lyrics also suggest that he is not complaining about his current lifestyle because he no longer feels lonely since he always has someone to spend his nights with.
Overall, the song depicts a narrative of post-breakup liberation, where Chris Brown finds solace in casual encounters and embraces his new carefree persona, attributing it to the person who caused him heartache.
