I know you didn't see my missed calls but
I done called you a thousand times
I guess you out clubbing, baby
I'm not gon' trip, not gon' say shit, she gon' ask me why
She know I'm hiding all this pain inside
But she never see a nigga cry
This ain't what I wanted
She say she only wanna party
'Cause she in love with everybody
I said baby
Look what you do to me
Girl, I've gone crazy
And you just got me waiting
I'm just waiting for you, I said baby
Look what you do to me
Girl, I've gone crazy
And you just got me waiting
I'm just waiting for you
I'm on a one on one
Lamborghini speeding on the highway that's suicide
I'm tryna find you
I was scared
You with your girls
It's your night out
Stressing got me looking like a night owl
You a star now, all up on TV
I made you famous 'cause I put you in the streets
Back and forth with the games, girl you played me
This ain't what I wanted
She say she only wanna party
'Cause she in love with everybody
I said baby
Look what you do to me
Girl, I've gone crazy
And you just got me waiting
I'm just waiting for you, I said baby
Look what you do to me
Girl, I've gone crazy
And you just got me waiting
I'm just waiting for you
I don't want you to leave
Baby, sit down and listen
Let me love ya
That's all I ever wanted to do
Oh na na
And I made you cry a thousand times when I went missing
Sorry, I hurt you
I just want you to know that
I love you
Back and forth with the games, girl you played me
This ain't what I wanted
She say she only wanna party
'Cause she in love with everybody
I said baby
Look what you do to me
Girl, I've gone crazy (I go crazy)
And you just got me waiting (got me)
I'm just waiting for you, I said baby
Look what you do to me
Girl, I've gone crazy
And you just got me waiting
I'm just waiting for you
The lyrics to Chris Brown's song "Waiting" depict a relationship filled with turmoil and longing. The singer starts by expressing frustration and disappointment at not being able to reach their partner despite trying numerous times. The partner is seemingly out clubbing, unaware of the singer's emotional turmoil. The singer acknowledges hiding their pain from their partner, indicating a sense of emotional disconnect or lack of understanding in the relationship.
The lyrics convey a sense of being caught up in a cycle of hurt and manipulation, with the singer feeling played and deceived by their partner. Despite this, the singer reflects on the intense love they feel for their partner, even though it seems unrequited or unappreciated. The partner's desire for constant partying and attention from others adds to the singer's feelings of insecurity and inadequacy.
The chorus reflects the singer's internal struggle and desperation for their partner's attention and love. They feel as though they are going crazy waiting for their partner to reciprocate their feelings and give them the love and validation they crave. The imagery of a fast-paced, dangerous drive in a Lamborghini symbolizes the reckless nature of the relationship and the lengths the singer is willing to go to in order to find and connect with their partner.
As the lyrics progress, the singer conveys a mix of emotions ranging from longing to regret and guilt. They express a desire for their partner to understand and accept their love, despite the pain and mistakes that have occurred in the relationship. The mention of making their partner cry and apologizing for causing hurt underlines the sense of remorse and the willingness to make amends.
Overall, "Waiting" by Chris Brown encapsulates the complex emotions and struggles that can arise in relationships, highlighting themes of longing, insecurity, love, and forgiveness. The lyrics portray a raw and honest portrayal of the challenges faced when love is not reciprocated or understood, leaving the singer in a state of emotional turmoil and uncertainty while they wait for their partner to acknowledge and embrace their feelings.
