Letissier has used numerous personal and stage names, and remarked that he "just ha many names for all the layers". He began his career as Christine and the Queens. For his second studio album, he shortened it to Chris, which was accompanied by a shift to a persona described as "a woman playing with masculine tropes". In October 2021, he was using the name Rahim. This sparked a debate around cultural appropriation due to the name's Arabic origin. He eventually began using a succession of different names such as Sam le pompier (the French title of Fireman Sam) and a full stop before settling on Redcar, sometimes shortened as Red. In August 2022, he updated his pronouns to he/him across social media platforms. In 2023, with the release of fourth album Paranoïa, Angels, True Love, he seemed to have reverted to simply Chris. However, he still occasionally uses his birth name, about which he said: "Héloïse Letissier is my parents' provenance and I love my parents. I sometimes use Héloïse to reconnect me to my childhood, but my inner child name is Manamané."
Wandering Lovers
Christine and the Queens Lyrics

Let it shine
We won't take no other order
Tonight I stood up for you
In the crowd
Life has never felt so widened
We are not fitted for each other
But here's the appeal
I've never wanted someone more
One
Are the water and the rock
Are the litter and the chalk
My love made them move made them melt
One
With my fingers I will draw
The road where we need to go
My love made us move, made us melt
Let the rain wind on your face
Let it steep
This is such a sweet surrender
Tell them that we may be gone for a while
We're about to drop the anchor
You're a wake up call
What is tremendous
Is divine
If they don't want you
They'll turn us into
Wandering lovers
One
Are the water and the rock
Are the litter and the chalk
My love made them move made them melt
One
With my fingers I will draw
The road where we need to go
My love made us move made us melt
In Christine and the Queen's song "Wandering Lovers," the lyrics express a sense of rebelliousness towards societal expectations and the struggle of being with someone who is not conventionally deemed a good match. The opening lines urge the listener to bask in the sun, to enjoy the moment, and not to obey any external demands. The singer then declares her loyalty to her love interest, standing up for them amidst a crowd, and asserting that life has never felt so free before.
The chorus affirms that the couple may not be conventionally compatible, but the attraction is intense and undeniable as the character remarks that they have never wanted someone more. The first verse of this chorus confirms that the singer has the power to change things. As a metaphor, she compares the relationship to water and rock or litter and chalk, stating that her love can make those incompatible elements change, move, and melt. The next verse highlights the singer's agency, as she affirms that she will draw the path that they need to take. The song ends with the characters deciding to take a break from the world, dropping the anchor and letting themselves wander as lovers.
