High Noon
Christopher Lee Lyrics

On this, our weddin' day
Do not forsake me, oh my darlin'
Wait, wait along
I do not know what fate awaits me
I only know I must be brave
And I must face a man who hates me
Or lie a coward in my grave
Oh, to be torn 'tweenst love and duty
S'posin' I lose my fair-haired beauty
Look at that big hand move along
Nearin' high noon
He made a vow while in state prison
Vowed it would be my life or his'n
I'm not afraid of death but oh
What will I do if you leave me?
Do not forsake me, oh my darlin'
You made that promise as a bride
Do not forsake me, oh my darlin'
Although you're grievin', don't think of leavin'
Now that I need you by my side
Wait along,(wait along) wait along
Wait along, wait along
(Wait along, ,wait along, wait along, wait along)
The lyrics of Christopher Lee's song High Noon tell a story of a man torn between love and duty, facing the ultimate challenge at high noon. The singer pleads with his beloved not to leave him alone on their wedding day, as he must face a man who hates him and has sworn to take his life. He does not know what fate awaits him but knows he must be brave and not surrender, or else he will be remembered as a coward. The song explores the themes of courage, loyalty, and sacrifice in the face of adversity.
The lyrics also convey a sense of urgency and desperation, with the haunting melody complementing the mood of the song. The singer wrestles with the dilemma of whether to fight for his life or protect the love of his life. The line "S'posin' I lose my fair-haired beauty" is a powerful reminder of the consequences of his actions, and how he risks losing everything he holds dear. As the clock ticks towards high noon, the tension builds, and the singer's fate hangs in the balance.
