Hello Little Girl
Christopher Sieber Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Wolf
Good day, young lady.
Little Red Riding Hood
Good day, Mr. Wolf.

Wolf
Mmh...
Uhh..
Look at that flesh,

Pink and plump.
Hello, little girl...
This one's especially lush,
Delicious...

Mmh...
Hello little girl,
What's your rush?
You're missing all the flowers.

The sun won't set for hours,
Take your time.
Little Red
Mother said, "Straight ahead."

Not to delay
Or be misled.
Wolf
But slow little girl,

Mark! and hush-
The birds are singing sweetly
You'll miss the birds completely,
You're traveling so fleetly.

Grandmother first,
The Miss Plump...
What a delectable couple.
Utter perfection-

One brittle, one supple-
One moment, me dear-!
Little Red
Mother said, "come what may,

Follow the path and never stray."

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Christopher Sieber's song "Hello Little Girl" are a conversation between Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf as they meet in the woods, with the Wolf offering to accompany Little Red on her journey to her grandmother's house. The lyrics are suggestive in nature, creating an uneasy and somewhat sinister atmosphere. Wolf's tone of voice is a little creepy while he is admiring Little Red, "Look at that flesh, / Pink and plump. / Hello, little girl... / This one's especially lush, / Delicious..." The Wolf appears to be using his silver tongue to lure Little Red into a false feeling of security, as he slowly begins to try and redirect her from her path, urging her not to be hasty and enjoy the journey. Although the lyrics may seem somewhat odd and dark, they do an excellent job of conveying the story behind Little Red Riding Hood's tale, where the wolf dressed up as her grandmother to deceive and devour her.
