Don't wake me, I'm dreaming
If I'm dreaming
Then just let me sleep
Don't wake me up
Till my dream is complete
Just leave me on my own
Turn off the lights
And unplug the phone
I can't get over
The fact that I'm with you
Now that I have you
I don't know what to do
Girl, if I'm dreaming
I'm dreaming 'bout you
About the things
That I like to do
Don't wake me, I'm dreaming
Girl, don't wake me
Don't wake me, I'm dreaming
Girl, I'm dreaming 'bout you
If I'm dreaming
Just let me sleep
Don't wake me up
Till my dream is complete
If I'm dreaming
Just leave me alone
Turn off the lights
And unplug the phone
I've been waiting
For such a long time
For you to say
That you would be mine
Now that you're here
Here by my side
I can't control the way
That I feel inside
Don't wake me, I'm dreaming
Girl, don't wake me
Don't wake me, I'm dreaming
Girl, I'm dreaming 'bout you
If I'm dreaming
Just let me sleep
Don't wake me up
Till my dream is complete
If I'm dreaming
Just leave me alone
Turn off the lights
And unplug the phone
If I'm dreaming about you
Let's make this dream come true
If I'm dreaming about you
Let's make this dream of love come true
Don't wake me, I'm dreaming
Girl, don't wake me
Don't wake me, I'm dreaming
Girl, I'm dreaming 'bout you
If I'm dreaming
Just let me sleep
Don't wake me up
Till my dream is complete
If I'm dreaming
Then leave me alone
Turn off the lights
And unplug the phone
If I'm dreaming
Then just let me sleep
Don't wake me up
Till my dream is complete
This dream is just
Just you and me
If I'm dreaming, ooh hoo
I can't sleep dreaming about you
(Dreaming, dreaming)
If I'm dreaming
Then just let me sleep
Don't wake me up
Till my dream is complete
If I'm dreaming
Then leave me alone
Turn off the lights
And unplug the phone
If I'm dreaming
If I'm dreaming
If I'm dreaming
The lyrics to Christopher Williams's song Dreamin' are an expression of the singer's intense yearning and longing for love. The song is an exploration of the dream-like state often associated with the feeling of being in love. The refrain, "Don't wake me, I'm dreaming," is repeated throughout the song, reinforcing the idea that the singer is in a state of emotional and psychological euphoria.
The opening lines, "If I'm dreaming, then just let me sleep, don't wake me up till my dream is complete," sets the tone for the rest of the song. These lines suggest that the singer is so enraptured by the feeling of being in love that he wants nothing more than to remain in that state, even if it is only a dream. The themes of the song include the blissful state of love, the fear of losing that love and the desire to make that dream a reality.
The lyrics also express the singer's anxiety and uncertainty on how to proceed after having found the love that he has been seeking for so long. The lines "Now that I have you, I don't know what to do" suggest that the singer has finally found the love that he has been seeking, but he is not sure how to proceed.
Overall, the lyrics to Dreamin' express the emotions and feelings commonly associated with being in love. It is a song about the dream state that love can put us in and the desire to hold onto that feeling.
