Chronixx Lyrics

Hey you kids down there, throw your hands in the air

Christine
Look what late nights did in the studio did for me
My stupid songs all paid off eventually
So sad you couldn't see this was my destiny
Maybe if you were there in the studio next to me
Then you would see this is what makes me happy
Instead you look at me like boy you're fast asleep (Nah, girl)

Oh Christina
I still believe in me and I'm a dreamer
But now I'm walking in my dreams
Oh yeah, Christine
Tell me who you see when you turn on your TV

Christine
I'm no star and awards nuh mean shit to me
All this time it was not about the money
And listen me honey, I'm where I'm supposed to be, (ah yeah)
Wouldn't it be sweet
If I had gone to that old university
Dispose my verses and versatility
Exchange it for a life in working class society
Nah, girl

Oh dear Christina
I still believe in me and I'm a dreamer
But now I'm walking in my dreams
Oh yeah, Christine
Tell me who you see when you turn on your TV, girl (yeah)

Now listen up young ones and listen up young folks
Don't take talent and your dream for no joke
And a nuff roads to choose so choose the right road
Make the wrong turn and when you grow old
That will come back to haunt you
Tell it to you mother and your father and your aunt too
Tell them you can be anything that you want to
Any love a nuh love if fi your dreams nuh really want you
Mi granny tell me say nuh follow nobody
Chronicle tell me say nuh follow nobody
Him say son be anything jah man weh you want be
And don't go follow no other people pickney
See't deh, Christine gone and fulfill her destiny
And man ah lock down stage down inna every city
Zincfence and Genius in the lab with Tory
Oh gosh, what a happy story, ease

Christina
I still believe in me and I'm a dreamer
But now I'm walking in my dreams
Dream long and dream on, oh yeah

Christina, yeah, ooh
Ease

Overall Meaning

The song "Christina" by Chronixx is a tribute to his journey in the music industry. In the first verse, he addresses those who doubted him and his passion for music, implying that they did not believe in his potential. He thanks the late nights in the studio and his hard work for the success he has achieved which would have been a significant source of contentment if only those who doubted him were present to witness. He explains that his dream now is becoming a reality, and he is living in it. Chronixx tells his story of how people discouraged him by pointing out the absence of money in his chosen field. Still, he tells "Christine" his muse, that the recognition and the awards, the glitz and glamour of the entertainment industry do not matter much to him. The journey has been more significant to him than the destination.

In the second verse, Chronixx gives advice to young people about chasing their dreams, following their passions and staying true to themselves. He warns them about the consequences of making the wrong decisions, which may come back to haunt them in the future. He advises them to choose the right path and not to be influenced by the opinions of others, their parents, or peers. The song ends with an assurance that he remains a dreamer, walking in his dreams as he encourages others to dream on.

@julianghh618

I also knew a girl named Christina..
I fell in love with her..
But, I never asked her about love..
Because, I knew I would never be with her..
I've been listening to this song ever since..
Because, I can feel her through this song And take me with her far away..
The album you made (Chronology) is really worth it and beautiful..
Sir. Bob Marley, Damian Marley, Alpha Blondy, SOJA, Alborosie And You (Chronixx) These are my favorites ...
I have almost all their albums.
I have a request for you..
Can you make a song about Sir. Marley .. Can you..?
I wish you well in your music career and i love you Brodha

I feel like Christina symbolizes our limiting beliefs and isn't just limited to the obvious thing. The fear, hesitation, and multiple opinions from friends and family who think they know you best and what's best for you. It's about you believing in yourself more and more as you go along your journey especially when you're hit with obstacles and disappointment. Christina could be your doubts or your childhood trauma. Christina is the different versions of ourselves that we become as we transition through life. The thoughts we give more or less attention too. The thoughts and habits that rule our minds The ones that make us second guess ourselves and choose reason instead of intuition. Chronixx's music is multidimensional and listening after so many years as I've grown immensely, I can interpret so many more perspectives that I originally couldn't in my younger days.
