In 2007, the oldest five girls of the family launched Cimorelli as a vocal group. They recorded covers of charting songs and uploaded them to YouTube every few weeks.
In 2008, the girls released their first EP Cimorelli. Each song was written by Christina and Lauren with the vocal harmonies arranged by Lisa. It has not been released under a record label.
Cimorelli became clients of Sugababes manager Sarah Stennett in 2009. In 2010, their youngest sister, Dani joined the band. The entire family of 11 children moved to Southern California so the girls could pursue their music career. They signed with Universal, and released the CimFam EP in iTunes on December 6, 2011. The EP features an original song and five covers.
In May 2012, Cimorelli won "The Bieber-Off", a contest by Ryan Seacrest where they covered Justin Bieber's hit "Boyfriend". In July, they were nominated for "Choice Web Star" at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards.
On December 3, Cimorelli announced they will be releasing the EP, Believe It on iTunes and Amazon, and their title track's music video on their VEVO YouTube channel, on December 11.
On June 18 Cimorelli released their fourth EP named "Made in America". It consisted of four songs which were all original - one of which was a studio version of their song Wings.
On May 4, 2014, Cimorelli performed at DigiFest in London. On June 7, 2014, Cimorelli performed at DigiFest NYC. On June 14, 2014, Cimorelli performed at DigiFest Toronto. In June of 2014, Cimorelli launched a web series entitled "Summer with Cimorelli", which was sponsored by the restaurant franchise Subway. Cimorelli began releasing new music on June 5, 2014 with their first single from their upcoming EP/Album "What I Do". The second single "Everything You Have", also featured in the girls' web series, was released on June 9, 2014. On August 25, 2014, the girls released their third single "Come Over". They released their fifth EP, Renegade, on October 27, 2014. The group's first full-length album is expected to be released in late 2014.

The Way We Live
Cimorelli Lyrics

Grew up in a suburb that was right outside of sac town
Ridin in my brother’s truck, music up too loud
Sittin on a sub face, clearin as we drive by
But it felt good, yeah, I’m not gonna lie
I can still feel it shake as I’m stuck in the back
In the middle of his friends while he drives too fast
I’m the only girl, I don’t know how to act
[Katherine] Laid back, cruisin like, hand out the window
Music always up, always up on the stereo
We don’t even know, even know where we should go, should go, should go
[Lauren] All those california kids listenin to country
Got a summer job, tryna make a little money
Livin our life, carefree like should be, should be, should be
[All] Whoa oh~
This is the way we live
We do this every day
This is the way we,
This is the way we,
This is the way we live
[Lisa] Ooh ooh ooh [All] My life is like
[Lisa] Ooh ooh ooh [All] Uhh!
[Lisa] They turn that dirt lot into a teenage memory
Yeah, town centre was the friday night place to be
That was back when I was an el dorado hillian
Moved to malibu, now I’m hangin at pavilion
[Christina] Norcal, socal, doesn’t really matter
It’s always a good time when we get together
Someone take a picture, remember this forever, ever, ever
[Dani] Head down the boulevard, all the way to subway
Listen to the songs that we love, all my friends sing
Hey, you, I wanna know your name, your name, your name
[All] Whoa oh~
This is the way we live
We do this every day
This is the way we,
This is the way we,
This is the way we live
[Lisa] Ooh ooh ooh [All] My life is like
[Lisa] Ooh ooh ooh [All] Uhh!
[Amy] I don’t fit in with everyone my age
But this ain’t hollywood, it’s just the way we live
This is the way
[Dani] The way
[Lisa] The way
[Katherine] The way
[Christina] The way
[Amy] This is the way
[All] The way~
[Amy] This is the way we live
[Lisa] Hey hey~ Ohh~ Woo!
[All] Whoa oh
This is the way we live
We do this every day
(Lisa: We don’t stop, yeah we don’t stop)
[Lisa/All] This is the way we,
This is the way we,
This is the way we live
[Lisa] Ooh ooh ooh [All] My life is like
[Lisa] Ooh ooh ooh [All] My life is like
[Lisa] Woo!
The song "The Way We Live" by Cimorelli tells the story of growing up in California and experiencing the carefree and fun moments with friends. The first verse sung by Christina recalls riding in her brother's truck with loud music, feeling the bass shake as they drove by. Although she was the only girl in the group, she reminisces about laughing and not knowing how to act. The second verse sung by Lisa describes how a dirt lot was turned into a teenage memory and town centre on Friday nights was the place to be. She later moved to Malibu and now hangs out at the Pavilion. The chorus is an anthem to the experiences shared with friends every day and how "This is the way we live."
Throughout the song, the sisters take turns singing, highlighting their personal experiences growing up in California. They mention cruising, listening to music on the stereo, and not caring where they should go. Amy acknowledges that she doesn't fit in with everyone her age, but it's just the way they live. The overall message of the song is to enjoy life, have fun with friends, and create memories that last forever.
This song is a great representation of youth culture in California and the experiences of growing up in a carefree and fun environment. It reminds us to cherish our memories and friendships, live in the moment, and be content with the way we live our lives.
