The 90s was a great time, going swimming at the water park as a kid and this would play and watching all the 90s kid shows like "Hey Arnold" and "Rugrats" and admiring "Michael Jordan" and "Tony Hawk" Malcolm in The Middle back in the early 00s. yeah dude, the mainstream stuff used to be good, art. The 90s is when it started changing over to the pre produced crap. Then Soulja boy came around and made music a joke, lil jon created mantra hip hop where they say nothing on the track. Producers today are just plain untalented, they suck ass. Before it was purely talent and power of will that people would put music out for others to enjoy. Now the music is too accessible and the market too saturated to find much worthwhile, meanwhile, the mainstream stuff is tailored to the lowest common denominator, so it's for 85 IQs, and the artists are not talented or creative in any way. I got the 90s, I was thankful for that. I really miss when the stuff that was popular was also objectively good. Imagine hearing iron maiden on the radio and being able to enjoy that w your average stranger. Times have really changed. I dont want to talk music at all anymore with anybody, and I look back to bands like Hanson with much more respect bc at least they played instruments and wrote their own songs. Even the old produced songs, the michael jackson stuff, used to be sooooooo good. Sugar foot is an amazing drummer. Having talented people propped up was so awesome compared to today, where they prop up nobodies to create envy and control over people who think they are just as talented and should be able to break through. Everyone is chasing fame, and the fame they are chasing sucks. Hell on earth.

This shit was my jam back at the turn of the Y2K scare and I landed a job as the cashier at my local Dollar General Store... it was perfect for me. I would listen to it just about every day in my beat-up/hand-me-down Chevy Cavalier that only had a slot for cassette tapes, so I had to use the Walkman cassette converter to hear the CD. Any pothole I went over, it would lightly skip....and I only had one side of speakers working.

I didn't care, though. Those were good times.

Boy this brings back those good times of the late 90s.. was still young and me and my friends were trying like hell to hold on to 29 lol...at 29 you could still get away with being an idiot...but at 30 you were supposed to "settle down" so we made sure we got that last year in fo sho. Everyone was still happy and young and healthy...music was decent at that time. We did all those fun drugs that didn't turn you into a lying, thieving junkie...internet was booming...Napster, Limewire, Diablo II, Half-Life...still had cool cars- Camaros, Chevelles, Mustangs...nobody had settled down with kids and a minivan yet. Pool parties, concerts, motorcycles, girls in cutoffs and bikinis...just seemed like every weekend we all got together and nobody was fucking fighting...terrorism hadn't put its dark cloud on the world, jobs were plentiful.

X-Fest always came through our town in September and that particular year, Citizen King was on the bill. When they encored with this song the crowd went BEZERK! Oh so much fun! People stage diving and crowd surfing and just having a great time. One of my best friends, Luke, loved these guys before they even blew this song up. But every time I hear it, it makes me think of him and all those great times...he passed away last October at the age of 45. A year before that the mother of his child was murdered...and now their little boy has no mother or father to grow up with. Terribly sad...
