Mon grand voyage, mon grand voyage
Quand tu me prends dans tes bras
Mon grand voyage, mon grand voyage
Quand tu me prends dans tes bras
Les ombres passent, de guerres lasse
Quand tu me prends dans tes bras tout s'efface
Ta-da, ta-da ta-ta-ta (soleil c'est toi, soleil c'est toi)
Ta-da, ta-da ta-ta-ta (soleil c'est toi, soleil c'est toi)
Ta-da, ta-da ta-ta-ta (soleil c'est toi)
Ta-da, ta-da ta-ta-ta (soleil c'est toi, soleil c'est toi)
The lyrics to Clou's song "Soleil" talk about finding solace and optimism even in tough times. The song begins with the singer walking in the rain, reflecting deeply on the gray concrete surroundings. Their melancholy seems to navigate aimlessly like a gray ocean. However, the lyrics suggest that storms never last forever and seasons always pass. There is courage on the horizon, and the singer assures that it will be beautiful, taking responsibility for this declaration.
The chorus then celebrates the sun as a metaphor for positivity and hope. The sun is described as the one who shines on the singer's face and brings warmth. It is also referred to as the "grand voyage," signifying a journey towards brighter days. When the sun embraces the singer, the shadows of war and weariness fade away, emphasizing the power of its embrace to heal and uplift.
In the following verses, the singer writes with a bit of condensation on the windows of the Paris Metro, listing the regrets in their life that they need to forget. Again, the lyrics reiterate that storms don't last forever and seasons always pass. The line of courage on the horizon is mentioned once more, reminding the listener that better days are ahead.
Overall, "Soleil" is a song about finding hope and strength in difficult times, acknowledging that life has its ups and downs, but ultimately affirming the power of positivity and the ability to overcome challenges.
