They continued to make more music and in 2005 they switched label to the Swedish
"Memento Materia" who had released many great artists through out the years.
And the work on "Departure" began. This time the sound had evolved even more and matured since "Storm" and when it was released it got great reviews and the fan base grew even bigger.
Then Code 64 started to work on their third album and it seemed harder than they first believed.
Through all the years the taste and influences has changed for each member and it was hard to
get along musically and when Henrik Piehl left the band to focus on his other projects Code 64
went into carbonation. Slowly drifting until late summer 2008 when through a lucky shot
BjĂžrn Marius Borg joined Code 64 as the new vocalist and the work for the new album "Trialogue" began. Then in 2010 they signed over to Progress Production and a few months later they released their first single "Stasis" from "Trialogue".
And in September 2010 they released the new album and both it and the singles received great reviews and in early February 2011 they received the award for best Synth of the year at the Manifest Awards in Stockholm. Bjorn and Hasse also run a psytrance side project Protostar .
In the summer of 2013 it was announced on the bands Facebook page that they would be splitting up with two members continuing on under a new project name.
Deviant
Code 64 Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
In defiance of the norm
We are deviant
Disciples of the scorn
I refuse to be deceived
Refuse to be subdued
I will never be a puppet of conformity
Defy
Resist the urge to fall
Defy
Into the arms of ignorance
Decide
The question you must ask
Decide
Who am I, slave or master?
We are more than you can see
We're the shadows hiding in the light
Perceivable but still unseen
At the center of it all
Waiting for the downfall
The lyrics of Code 64's song Deviant are an anthem for those who refuse to bow down to conformity and societal norms. The first verse describes those who consider themselves dissidents and deviants, those who refuse to be disciples of the scorn. The vocalist asserts that they refuse to be deceived or subdued, and that they will never conform to societal pressure. In the chorus, the message is clear - to defy the urge to fall, resist ignorance, decide who you are, and be the master, not the slave of your fate.
The second verse is a call for self-reflection, asking listeners to look deep within themselves and ask the question "who am I?" It challenges the listener to choose between being a slave to societal pressure, or a master of their own destiny. The line "we are more than you can see" indicates that there is more to the dissidents and deviants than meets the eye. They are the shadows hiding in the light, waiting for the downfall.
In conclusion, the lyrics of Deviant speak to those who refuse to be brainwashed by societal norms and pressure. It inspires the listener to be their own master and to never conform to societal pressure. The song empowers its audience to be strong and confident in the face of adversity.
