Yellow
Coldplay (cover) Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Look at the stars
Look how they shine for you
And everything you do
Yeah they were all yellow

I came along
I wrote a song for you
And all the things you do
And it was called yellow

So then I took my turn
Oh what a thing to have done
And it was all yellow

Your skin
Oh yeah your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful
You know you know I love you so
You know I love you so

I swam across
I jumped across for you
Oh what a thing to do

'Cause you were all yellow
I drew a line
I drew a line for you
Oh what a thing to do
And it was all yellow

Your skin
Oh yeah your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful
And you know
For you I'd bleed myself dry
For you I'd bleed myself dry

It's true
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine for
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine

Look at the stars

Look how they shine for you
And all the things that you do

Overall Meaning

"Yellow" by Coldplay is a song that combines strong emotions, vivid imagery and a touch of surrealism. The song uses vibrant colors such as yellow, which is used as a metaphor for happiness or even delirium. The track highlights the singer's admiration and devotion towards the person he is singing for, and the beauty he sees in them. The opening line of the chorus, "Look at the stars, look how they shine for you," serves as an expression of adoration and admiration towards that person. The second line, "And everything you do, Yeah they were all yellow," implies that everything the person does or touches becomes brilliant and precious, thus being compared to the radiance of the stars.

The lyrics go on to explain how the singer wrote a song for the person he loves, describing it as "all yellow." The singer compares the person's skin and bones to yellow, claiming that they turn into something beautiful. The song reaches its climax when the singer proclaims what he's willing to do for his lover. Producer: Hey, sorry Chris, we got no money for a music vid.
Chris: No problem, I'll just go to the beach and walk endlessly.

Very cool, Chris.

Samir Ahuja Damn rite and look at me SHINE!

@princexaine5340

It doesn't help that he literally didn't know where the song came from or what it means. So instead of finding meaning, it was easier just to put him on the beach. At least - that's what I think happened. Your thought was good too though.
