Using figurative blinders to shield ourselves from disregarding the efforts and accomplishments of women.

Chasing our forevers on the feathers of a bird
Pursuing our long-lasting dreams and aspirations with the fragile hope represented by a bird's feathers.

Amnesia cuz we wonder if forever had occurred
Experiencing a sense of forgetfulness because we question if an everlasting state of fulfillment and success has ever existed.

Easier, would we want it? Or walk around haunted
Contemplating whether life would be preferable if it were simpler, or if we should accept the haunting complexities that come with it.

By the fact that if we had it we don't have the right to flaunt it
Acknowledging that if we were to possess a simpler life, we would not be entitled to boast about it.

Does the lack of light smite or give the might to write a sonnet
Considering whether the absence of illumination suppresses or empowers us to create poetic expressions.

Is the struggle real? Is the joy like some type of vomit
Questioning the authenticity of the challenges we face and the fleeting nature of happiness.

We return to? Just to remind us of what we burn through
We revisit our past experiences as a reminder of what we have expended or lost along the way.

A man's only as big as the experience he turns to to push forward
The growth and stature of an individual are determined by the lessons they draw from past experiences to propel themselves forward.

Push buttons and navigate. Had a nap of late
Taking control of our actions and decisions, while also acknowledging moments of relaxation or rest.

Seen the excuses we fabricate
Observing the justifications and rationalizations we construct.

Just to saturate reality, I'm glad we made the gallery
Creating art or artistic representations to enhance our perception of reality, and expressing gratitude for that artistic accomplishment.

Cuz all these low points make the high points a fallacy
Highlighting the contrast between challenging moments in life, which make achieving success or happiness seem deceptive or illusory.

Carelessly floating away
Drifting aimlessly and without concern.

Disillusion is the move with which I cope for today
Embracing disillusionment as a coping mechanism to navigate the challenges of the present day.

I'm hoping to say
Expressing a desire to communicate an important message.

Reiterating the central theme and belief in the dream held.

Cuz I'm grateful for the life that I have son
Expressing gratitude for the current life and circumstances.

Recognizing that the negative consequence of progress or success is the culmination of various factors or elements.

Do you desire to catch a glimpse of a more hopeful and positive perspective?

And not having deserving your spot as a runner's high
Experiencing the absence of the euphoric feeling and sense of accomplishment one should rightfully earn.

Not having your odds in the green with the numbers guy
Not having favorable or advantageous probabilities or chances according to a statistical analysis.

Not having the guilt of remorse if you wanna die
Absence of the burden or regret associated with contemplating or desiring death.

Wanna cry? Its summertime, the rain hide your tears
If you feel like crying, the rain of the summertime can conceal your tears.

A smile is used just to contain how you feel
Putting on a smile to conceal or restrain one's true emotions.

So what is real, the rain or the rainbow
Questioning the authenticity or significance of both difficult and happy experiences.

Foreign emotions in oceans boasting cuz they came on the same boat
Emotions that are unfamiliar or foreign, but are proud because they originated from shared circumstances or experiences.

That's like trophies boasting that they came with Usain Bolt
Comparing emotions or achievements to trophies bragging about their association with a renowned athlete like Usain Bolt.

And though we oppose we stay promoting the angle
Despite opposing viewpoints or conflicts, we continue to advocate for a certain perspective or approach.

Evolving in our poses as we make for the end goal
Adapting and adjusting our stances or positions as we work towards achieving the ultimate objective.

Behind us is the hope every time that our mans go
With every setback or loss, the hope for success or progress still remains with us.

I had a dream
Referencing the iconic speech by Martin Luther King Jr., emphasizing the personal connection to having a dream.

That one day this nation will rise up to live out the true meaning of its creed
Expressing the aspiration for a future where the nation fully embodies and embraces the principles and values it professes.

We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal
Quoting a fundamental belief that all individuals are inherently equal and deserving of equal rights and opportunities.

Hands high as we starving our self
Raising our hands up high as a symbol of protest or resistance while enduring hunger or deprivation.

Make it through the system just to kindergarten ourselves
Navigating and surviving through societal systems or institutions, only to find ourselves in a state reminiscent of when we were in kindergarten.

Make it to the 'YES' just to 'Beg Your Pardon?' ourselves
Achieving success or reaching a positive outcome, only to question or apologize for our accomplishments.

And we're easy on the world just to be hard on ourselves
Exhibiting kindness and understanding towards the world, while being harsh and critical towards ourselves.

A carton of wealth, a wife and kids is all it seems life can give
Implying that life may appear to only offer material wealth and family as the ultimate rewards or sources of fulfillment.

It all seems to end there, even when you're a type of wiz
Despite possessing great skills or talents, life still feels limited and unfulfilling.

Confusion at that type of fix, we suffer for a life of bliss
Feeling perplexed or uncertain about such a predicament, as we endure hardship in pursuit of a perceived ideal life.

You're welcome to like a wish. What type of life is this
Inviting others to contemplate and question what kind of existence this is, as if it were a fleeting wish.

Martin Luther must have asked, before somebody bust his cap
Drawing a parallel to Martin Luther King Jr., suggesting he may have questioned the nature of life before his untimely death.

His future needed salt, fate said 'where the mustard at?'
Imagining that his destiny or aspirations required some enhancement, as if fate was asking where the necessary ingredient (mustard) was.

As a teen I mastered that, never looked past the fact
Reflecting on their own teenage years, where they embraced and excelled at overcoming obstacles without dwelling on the difficulties.

I could chase my dream but I would be an outcast to rap
Realizing that pursuing their dream might result in being seen as an outsider or not fitting into the conventional rap industry.

But as the sun sets on a son set for King
Symbolizing the end of a period in their life that had great potential, much like the sunset on the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.

I'm ready for the dark, let the sunset begin
Mentally and emotionally prepared for the challenges or difficult times ahead, as the metaphorical sunset commences.

You'll never see the day when my sun sets within
Asserting that their inner drive and inspiration will never diminish or fade away.
