Correct me if I'm wrong
But you think
I'm not so strong
I'll shove it down your throat
Have what you seen in this
World made you blind?
Have all these years
Behind you been unkind?
Cause you are deaf, dumb
You ain't nothing,
You are going nowhere,
NOWHERE!
What are you trying to say
Correct me if I'm wrong
You're the one
That's not so strong
Tear that stupid smile off your face
I'll wear it on the day
When I'm dancing on your grave
Have what you seen in this
World made you blind!
The song "In Your Face" by Concave Scream is a song that speaks to the struggles that come with dealing with criticism and insults from others. The lyrics begin by asking what the person is trying to say and then calling them out for thinking that the singer is weak. The singer then declares that they will prove the critic wrong and make them eat their words, shoving their own insults down their throat.
The song then takes a darker turn as the singer questions whether the critic has been blinded by the world or if the years have been unkind to them. The chorus repeats the refrain that the critic is deaf, dumb and going nowhere. The second verse affirms that the critic is the one who is weak and the singer will tear off their smile and wear it on the day they dance on their grave. The song ends with a repeated question of what the critic has seen in the world that has blinded them.
Overall, the song is a defiant and aggressive response to those who seek to tear the singer down. It speaks to the strength and resilience that can be found in standing up for oneself and refusing to let the negativity of others bring one down.
