When troubles come and my heart burdened be
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence
Until you come and sit awhile with me
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders
To more than I can be
There is no life no life without its hunger
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly
But when you come and I am filled with wonder
Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up
To more than I can be
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up
To more than I can be
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up
To more than I can be
You raise me up
To more than I can be
The lyrics of the song "You Raise Me Up" by Connie Talbot is a message of hope and inspiration to those who are struggling and feeling down. The opening lines set the tone for the entire song, describing the feeling of weariness and burden in one's heart. The singer expresses the solace of waiting in silence until the person who inspires and supports her arrives. Once this person arrives, everything changes. They offer support, encouragement, and strength, which raises the singer up, enabling her to overcome any obstacle or challenge.
The chorus is the most repeated part of the song, where the singer speaks of being able to stand on mountains and walk on stormy seas because of the support she receives. This support makes her strong, and she credits it for her ability to be more than she ever thought possible. The final verse speaks of the imperfections or struggles in life, but when the person who uplifts arrives, the singer sees a glimpse of eternity. This glimpse is a reminder of the comfort, hope, and inspiration one can experience with support.
