Over the past couple of years that young lady has become an international phenomenon, with millions of YouTube views, glowing media coverage and a best-selling album—a feat made all the more remarkable by the fact that Connie Talbot was all of 7 years old.
Since then the Connie Talbot phenomenon has skyrocketed not only in the U.K., where Over the Rainbow went gold in three weeks, but in other European and Asian countries as well and also in the US. In America Connie’s album reached the #7 spot on the Heatseakers chart in Billboard Magazine and the single ‘Three Little Birds’ reached the #1 spot on the Hot 100 Singles Sales Chart. Recently the Guinness Book of World Records certified Talbot as the new reigning champion in the categories of youngest artist in the UK ever to reach the charts and the youngest to receive a gold record.
In the fall Connie released her new holiday themed album in the US. The CD is titled Connie Talbot's Holiday Magic and features Connie's interpretation on holiday classics and fan favorites. Connie has also recorded an hour long television special for PBS, making her (at 8 years old) the youngest artist to ever do so.
In early summer Connie announced she would be releasing a holiday themed album in America. The CD is titled Connie Talbot’s Holiday Magic and will feature Connie’s Along with the album Connie will be recording an hour long television special for PBS.
The holiday album and new television special will cap off an incredibly prolific and successful year for the rising star. Recently named child ambassador for the 2009 Marine Toys for Tots campaign, Connie plans to donate part of the proceeds from CD sales in support of the worthy charity.
Walking in a Winter Wonderland

In the lane snow is glistening
A beautiful sight, we're happy tonight
Walking in a winter wonder land
Gone away is the bluebird
Here to stay is a new bird
He sings a love song as we go along
In the meadow we can build a snowman
Then pretend he is Parson Brown
He'll say are you married? We'll say no man
But you can do the job when your in town
Later on we'll conspire
As we dream by the fire
To face unafraid the plans that we've made
Walking in a winter wonderland
Later on we'll conspire
As we dream by the fire
To face unafraid the plans that we've made
Walking in a winter wonderland
In the meadow we can build a snowman
Then pretend that he is a circus clown
We'll have lots of fun with Mr. Snowman
Until the other kiddies knock him down
When it snows ain't it thrilling?
Though your nose gets a chilling
We'll frolic and play the Eskimo way
Walking in the winter wonderland
Walking in the winter wonderland
The lyrics of Connie Talbot's song, "Walking In a Winter Wonderland," describe the joys of being outside in the winter and experiencing the magic of the season through the eyes of a child. In the first verse, we hear the sleigh bells ringing and feel the excitement of a snowy day. The second verse introduces a new bird (replacing the bluebird), singing a love song, and accompanying the singer and their companion as they walk through the winter wonderland.
The chorus talks about the different activities they can do while walking in the winter wonderland. They can build a snowman in the meadow and pretend that he is a Parson Brown or a circus clown. Later, while they dream by the fire, they will conspire together to face unafraid the plans they have made while walking in the winter wonderland. The final verse expresses the thrill of playing in the snow despite the chilling temperatures.
Overall, this song is about the joy and magic of winter and how it can bring people together in playful and imaginative ways.
