So Fly
Conya Doss Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Yeah, mmhmm
Dada da da da
Yeah yeah yeah

I guess it took long enough for me to
Get up the nerve to
Find the right words to say to you
Convey to you what I'm goin' through
See I'm bout ready to put my drink up
And I'm
Tryin' to remember if my crib is cleaned up
I don't think I'm for sure
If I seen your face round here before
Right now I can't recall
See
That don't really matter at all
Cause you are here with me
Right now and you're

You're so fly
Baby you've caught me eye
Baby I can't deny I wanna try
To make you feel me like I'm feelin' you
You gotta know someplace where we can be
Just you and me so we can see
If this thing was meant to be

I know it's no coincidence or just by chance
We crossed each other's paths
Somehow somewhere we just connected
It's a simple fact that I'm content

Being here with you
I'm feelin' your style your smile
Your deep conversations
There's no regrets you should know that
Baby let's get outta here so we can do what we gotta do

(It's about 2:00 in the mornin')
See it's time to make your move
(I been checking you out for a while now)
So what are you gonna do, ohh
(Wherever we go I don't care)
I don't care as long as we're together
Having you next to me giving me extacy, you're

I'm feeling your style your smile
Your deep conversations
There's no coincidence and it ain't just by chance
That I'm feelin' you, ohhh
(There's no regrets) baby (you should know that)
You should know that (you should know that)
You're so fly

(It's about 2:00 in the mornin')

It's about
(I been checkin' you out for a while now)

Overall Meaning

In Conya Doss's song, "So Fly," the singer is trying to muster up the courage to speak to someone they find attractive. They express nervousness about the cleanliness of their home and whether or not they've seen their crush before. However, they are ultimately unbothered by these concerns because they are excited to be in the presence of this person. The chorus emphasizes the singer's feelings of awe and admiration for this person's appearance, and they express a desire to get to know them better. As the song progresses, the singer becomes more confident in their feelings and hints at wanting to take things to the next level.

"THE DEFINITION OF  NEO-SOUL"
Neo-Soul is a timeless musical genre that fuses real instrumental, Jazz, contemporary R&B and 1970s-style soul, funk, and rock with some elements of hip-hop. As it's name (new soul) implies, Neo-Soul music is essentially modern-day soul music, with contemporary attitudes and sensibilities. It differs from contemporary R&B in that it's organic and obviously more soulful, and it also tends to have deeper messages and meanings than R&B.

Man, you're such an unhinged clown. You can't even identify your own name in a response, and then assert that I'm the one who is confused about who is who? Obnoxiously clueless.

Lee wrote "Woman [sic] are more than just their hair," but then you misread it, lost your shit, and imagined that she said "White Woman."

That "White" was not the beginning of the sentence, but the end of your name. Stop being so embarrassing. You blew up on Lee because you don't know how to read replies.

"+Kenneth White Woman are more than just their hair." - @LEE

"+LEE No shit, you dumb git! You completely missed the point. Try again, Einstein.
Hint: The topic is black women wearing THEIR natural hair. Not white women!" - @Kenneth White

One of the most underrated artist of all times she is legendary in my opinion.

Not every artist is meant to be mainstream. They stay true to their love of music and fans. Not just to keep an image and make a quick buck. Artists who aren't mainstream have a lot more freedom. I love listening to artists people have never even heard of

Jah Domination

Mainstream is a marketing term. Its a way record companies categorize artist for the purpose of profit. For example they may use money earned from "non" mainstream artist on their roster to fund the careers of "mainstream" artist on their roster. Imagine: It's in the supermarket you have name brand products and non name brand products that can be identical in ingredients etc. look the same and taste the same - and owned by the same company. In the end the company makes a profit from owning both brands. Something like that... Plus they pay different royalty rates for different categories...Its an elaborate scheme created decades ago to cheat African American artist in the music business.

Youngone1534 Young

Usually the "Not So Famous" artists are waaay better than the mainstream artists because the core of who they are a person is conveyed through their art form which is their music. Mainstream artists get lost in translation with big record companies telling them what to sing, how to sing it, what to wear, etc, etc.

WOW! She looks just like my sister that passed away. I just put a picture of her up to tha screen and it blew me away. Man, and she could sing soo SO beautifully. That could have been her.
