The 7" was received with lukewarm reviews, but the band nevertheless played many shows, in particular with Darkbuster, A Poor Excuse, Last In Line, Down But Not Out and the Unseen.
Adam decided to leave the band for personal reasons and we acquired Josh Barnes from the recently broken up A Poor Excuse. It was this lineup of CNR that the band really came into its own and began to write some of their best material. Bridge 9 records offered to release our next 7", "Execution Style".
Right after the record was released, we did our first tour with our brothers from western mass, Last in Line. Two weeks of insanity followed, playing to almost no one, but destroying every night. CNR had left a mark on the east coast and the bands popularity was growing. What would be the last CNR show in Brick, NJ, the band sold over 200 copies of the Bridge 9 ep.
CNR took a break while other members where dealing with personal issues and other musical projects. A full length LP was always talked about and many songs where written for it. Personally I had been waiting to propose finishing it even a year after our last show. Sadly Josh Barnes passed away and so did any chance of Cops and Robbers reuniting.

Last Laugh
Cops and Robbers Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Now its beyond the point of no return
Still you show no concern
They're gonna have the last laugh
You're caught in the trap - last laugh
Keep looking up at the screen
Slice like a guillotine
The lyrics in Cops and Robbers' song Last Laugh express the frustration and disappointment of the person singing towards someone else who has made a series of bad decisions. The singer feels like they have attempted to warn the other person, but they did not listen, and now they are in deep trouble. The phrase "beyond the point of no return" suggests that it is too late for the other person to change their ways, and they are now caught in a trap. The other person still seems indifferent, as the singer suggests that they have "no concern."
The chorus then introduces a powerful metaphor, suggesting that the ones who have caused the damage will not have the last laugh, and someone will eventually catch up with them. Being "caught in the trap - last laugh" means that there is no escaping the consequences of their actions, and eventually, they will pay the price. The line "keep looking up at the screen" suggests that the other person is in denial or trying to avoid dealing with their problems. However, the "screen" is just a temporary distraction that will not help them, as the following line suggests that their actions will "slice like a guillotine."
Overall, the song Last Laugh portrays a sense of hopelessness and inevitability. The other person's fate seems to be sealed, and they are now left to face the consequences of their choices. The song conveys the message that it is essential to take responsibility for our actions and be mindful of the consequences they might have.
