Then I saw the light on the stage.
Suddenly, I witnessed a beacon of hope and opportunity on the stage.

I invited others to join me in singing and sharing in the joy.

I hitched my way back to Houston,
I traveled back to Houston by hitchhiking.

Where I knew that I'd find a home.
I was confident that I would discover a sense of belonging and acceptance there.

My mother claimed no vacancy,

I found myself a stray all alone
I felt lost and abandoned, like a stray animal without companionship.

Amidst the unsettling and tumultuous darkness of the night.

I swore someone was calling my name.
I strongly believed that there was a voice beckoning me, summoning me.

I turned only to see the light on the stage.
When I turned around, my gaze fell upon the illuminating light on the stage.

I took my last dollar,
Having spent all of my remaining money.

Made some change, and I called a friend.
I managed to acquire some spare coins and reached out to a friend for assistance.

He said that's no problem pal,
He reassured me saying it wasn't a problem, my friend.

You know we'd love to take you in.
You should know that we would be delighted to welcome you into our company.

So he helped me through my trials,
He provided support and guidance during my struggles and challenges.

With some peace from the Lord above.
Bringing me comfort and tranquility through spiritual intervention from God.

Next thing I know I'm on the stage,
Suddenly, I found myself standing on the stage, living my dreams.

Doing everything that I've dreamed of.
Engaging in and experiencing everything I had ever envisioned and desired.

Now it seems that I am the light on the stage.
I have become the beacon of hope and inspiration on the stage.

Now it seems that we are the lights on the stage.
We have collectively transformed into the guiding lights illuminating the stage.
