I'm with you all the way. I'm a "first 48 top fan" and this episode had me in tears. It's the only episode I've ever cried n couldn't watch the whole thing.
But here's another take
If I were Courtneys mom I'd be suing that detective n the police dept, for not protecting Courtney. In the first episode when Courtney is being questioned by detective and Courtneys BEGGING for protection as he's telling about the murder he witnessed and that he had info on some other murders. He should've been protected. Either sent to his family in California like he was asking or put him in PC take him to a safe house

I have never been so angered as I became as I watched this.

I lost ALL RESPECT for that detective

I first became aware of Courtney Palmer after watching the First 48 episode about him several years ago… the story was sad and shocking back then, and it still is today. As the poster of this video mentions, it is truly unbelievable that any human being can be so brutal and cruel to another human being. Just despicable. I remember seeing the first episode. It stuck out to me because Courtney kept telling the officers that he had to leave town. And I felt that they failed him miserably. Used him for info and let him die. The details of his death are heartbreaking. Law enforcement really failed him 😞

Of all the cases I have watched in 48, this one angered me and saddened me the most. I just felt for this kid. I could tell he was a good kid that didn't mean no harm. He just ended up in a bad situation for absolutely no reason. I just wanted to hug him when he was being interrogated. I just wish he didn’t meet his destiny this way. People need to step back and really think before committing murder. It affects so many people.

Good job with your channel, anyone can talk about true crime but it makes it easier to hear the details and bear the brunt of what really happened when it’s told from a decent person’s perspective, you have that human component that some others lack. I appreciate that you express empathy for the victim, it makes a difference, some people get to talking about true crime and they sound so clinical and detached, removed from the situation that sometimes they almost sound like they’re talking about book characters or a TV show, not real people’s lives. I remember seeing this case and on the First 48. Literally, the only episode that made me cry like a baby. People can be so evil. That poor kid was tortured and murdered for something he didn’t even do. Everyone involved should have to suffer like he did, but since that’s not an option, they should all spend the rest of their lives in prison. The detectives should’ve sent Courtney to stay with his sister like he asked and I think in the end they regretted not doing that and felt they had some blood on their hands as well.

I watched this on 'First 48' tonight. When Courtney went to homicide he was 'wired' and afraid. He asked to be put on a bus to California as he feared for his life. They sent him home to his mum to sleep and told him to take his meds. I'm not saying they're responsible for his death but I think they contributed to it because they didn't take his seriously. They should have kept him safe. The poor guy was so fearful I really felt for him. RIP Courtney. I hope you are in a better place.

I watch a lot of true crime and nothing has effected me like Courtney Palmer's story. When they described how he was begging for his life, I just lost it. I became physically sick when they described Riddle and Lowe taking his body out to those fields, having sex on that mattress in that little shack, and then using it to cover his body and burn it. I normally don't support the death penalty, but this case was so brutal and horrific that it feels appropriate.

The detective pretty much patronized him, and said, “Go to your mama’s house!” Yes, mama is usually the safest place to be. But, criminals will kill the mom as well. It was so disrespectful to me.

It’s crazing I’m watching the episode now. And Courtney literally asked them to put a GPS device on him and to be moved to California. I only recently saw the episode on Stan , in Australia.
He was clearly telling Detective White that he needed protection and I’ve seen them put witnesses in protection before. He wouldn’t take his statement due to him not having taken his adhd medication but he was clearly scared for his life and he was lured to the home he ultimately died in . If the family hasn’t started to sue the Tulsa Police Department for gross neglect of a states witness .

I'm from Tulsa, Ok. I know his sister's. This has really hurt them to the core. I can't believe how evil people can be. What makes you feel that you have the right to take someone else's life. They need to serve life in prison with no chance of parole

I just watched the episode about the shooting. I paused it halfway through and googled Courtney because my heart just broke for him in the interrogation room and I so badly was hoping that he made it to CA. Then I just watched this video and my heart is broken. Everyone involved in his death deserves to die! I hope he made it to heaven

I did the same thing. I paused and googled his name and "Courtney Palmer body was found" appeared on the screen. I was so shocked and speechless. I cried and sat in silence for more than 10 minutes thinking how he was tortured and suffered for hours. Rip young boy. 😭

I hear you loud & clear when you say you'll never understand how people can do such horrible things to another person. It seems like its getting worse & worse, a fight cant just be a fight. Its taken to such an extreme level it makes no sense. What happened to empathy ?!? This case reminds me of the one in Knoxville of the young couple who were horribly tortured while there were multiple people in the house at times & people outside of the house knew too. What makes someone be so off the scale with abuse ? I just dont get it. Thank you for bringing a light for the victims who no longer have a voice to tell their stories.

@Jay Profaci that’s not how witness protection works. He was not testifying against anyone nor an informant. He didn’t get killed because someone thought he was helping the cops; he was murdered because folks thought he did a crime

My God this poor man, Courtney 💔 These sick animals didn't even have anything to do with the man who was shot AND who was saying Courtney had nothing to do with it. They just took it upon themselves to intact really twisted revenge murder on an innocent man. I can't...lock em under the prison. I can't fathom Courtney Palmer's last hrs. I just watched the first 48 on this case and my heart is so broken for this young man and his family. The horrific things they did and the reason for are unfathomable to me. This will be one of those stories that I will never be able to forget. So sad and disappointed that such evil exsists in this world. He was beautiful young man with his whole life ahead of him...and they took it in a senseless and horrific way!

I remember watching this on the First 48 and he told them that he wanted to leave because they were going to kill him. I blame the officers for this. Courtney was on medication he really did not have anything to do with this. I stopped watching the Fist 48 for a while because this really broke my heart. They should have protected him. They should have taken him more seriously when he said he wanted to go and live with his sister. My heart still breaks for this young man. I have a son his age, I can only imagine what his mom is going through. R.I.P. Courtney. Thanks for sharing this.
