August
Cozy Throne Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I could show you what's inside
But I know you wouldn't be surprised
I wish you could read through the lines
But I know you can't read my mind

But I'm slow but surely
Making it out alive
Yeah, you're lost in your state of mind
And it's tearing me up inside

Tell me something good
Before I go
And move on
On our own
Tell me something good before we go
And move on
On our own

I would climb to save your life
Then go on to worry about mine
Please tell me what should I do
When your silhouette still haunts my room

Cuz I'd still tear out all of my teeth when I speak
If you can't understand me
Yeah, you're lost in your state of mind
And it's tearing me up inside

Tell me something good
Before I go
And move on
On our own
Tell me something good before we go

And move on
On our own

Overall Meaning

In the song "August" by Cozy Throne, the lyrics explore the complex emotions of wanting to communicate deeply with someone but feeling misunderstood and unable to truly express oneself. The singer acknowledges that they have a desire to reveal their inner self to the person they are addressing, but they also understand that this person would not be surprised by what they see. There is a sense of longing for the other person to understand them on a deeper level, to read between the lines of their words, but at the same time, the singer recognizes that this is unlikely to happen because the person cannot read their mind.

The lyrics also touch upon the singer's growth and resilience. Despite the challenges they face, they are gradually making their way through life, surviving and moving forward. However, this journey is complicated because the person they are addressing seems to be lost in their own state of mind, causing pain and distress for the singer. This inner turmoil is tearing them apart emotionally.

The plea for something positive is evident in the chorus. The singer asks the person to tell them something good before they go and move on, possibly suggesting a desire for closure or a positive final interaction. They express a need for reassurance or affirmation, wanting to end things on a good note before they both go their separate ways and face life independently.

The final stanza reveals the depth of the singer's feelings. They would be willing to go to great lengths, even sacrificing their own well-being, to save the other person's life. Yet, despite this devotion, the other person's presence still haunts and affects them. The image of their silhouette haunting the singer's room implies that this person continues to linger in their thoughts and memories, even though they may be moving on.

Overall, the lyrics of "August" convey a sense of longing, frustration, and a desire for understanding and closure. The singer grapples with the complexity of their emotions and the challenges they face in communicating effectively with the person they address. The song explores themes of self-discovery, resilience, and the lingering impact of a past relationship.

Hello, I purchased a lighter from amazon. There's only a screw at the bottom I don't know if it's for opening up the lighter or to increase the flame.
There's a sigh of + and - .But the the valve of lighter looks like can be tighten.

I am confused wether i should tighten the screw or valve nob.
Can you help me?
I don't wanna destroy my lighter.

@tomgreen99200

@@johnme60 the valve should be circular and not a screw. The refill port should be in the middle of that valve.
