So What
Crash Radio Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

How long
Have I been here?
Stuck to the floor
Lost in the stratosphere

But all I really wanna know
Is how the fuck do I get home?
I guess sometimes I just lose touch
With what's too much

I can't stop, can't sleep, can't talk, I can't think
I know the room is spinning
But I'm lookin' for another drink
So forget about me

And my girl
Says I'm the one to blame here
She says I never hear her
When she opens up
So what?

All I really wanna know
Is how the fuck do I get home?
I guess sometimes I just lose touch
With what's too much

I can't stop, can't sleep, can't talk, I can't think
I know the room is spinning
But I'm lookin' for another drink
So forget about me

There's just something about it
I can't get fucked up without it
I can't wait for the summer
When all I do is forget about it

Oh yeah

'Cause I can't stop, can't sleep, can't talk, I can't think
I know the room is spinning
But I'm looking for another drink
So forget about me

No, I can't stop, can't sleep, can't talk, I can't think
I know the room is spinning
But I'm lookin' for another drink
So forget about me

How long
Have I been here

Stuck to the floor
Lost in the stratosphere here

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Crash Radio's song "So What?" delve into themes of feeling lost, disconnected, and self-destructive. The opening lines, "How long, have I been here? Stuck to the floor, lost in the stratosphere," depict a sense of being trapped and disoriented, both physically and emotionally. The singer is feeling stuck and unable to find their way back to where they belong.

The chorus expresses their primary concern, which is a longing to find their way back home. They are frustrated and seeking answers, asking, "Is how the fuck do I get home?" This line reflects the singer's desperation to escape their current state and find a sense of belonging and stability once again.

The verse that follows delves into the singer's troubled relationship. Their partner blames them for not listening and understanding when they try to open up emotionally. This emphasizes the singer's difficulty in connecting with others, further adding to their sense of alienation and isolation.

The repeated lines in the chorus highlight the singer's struggle to find solace. They feel unable to stop, sleep, talk, or think, indicating a state of constant restlessness and inner turmoil. The search for another drink becomes a coping mechanism, serving as a temporary distraction from their troubles. They ask others to forget about them, possibly as a plea for understanding or even a resignation to their situation.

The bridge suggests that there is something specific about their reliance on alcohol that keeps them tied to this destructive pattern. The singer cannot get "fucked up" without it, implying that it has become a crutch they rely on to navigate their emotional struggles. They find some hope in the thought of summer, where they may be able to forget their problems momentarily.

In conclusion, "So What?" by Crash Radio explores the singer's feelings of detachment, longing for home, and struggle to connect with others. It delves into their reliance on alcohol as a means of escape, suggesting a pattern of self-destructive behavior. The lyrics capture a sense of restlessness and a desperate search for peace amidst chaotic emotions.

To be honest it was a complete shit show. And also, if you want to blame someone, you either blame everyone or noone. But obviously it's more logical to say it's a racing incident meaning no one to blame.

In a way, Bottas did nothing wrong, he is the leader meaning he is the "safety car" and he decides when to go, you could say that the weaving he was doing may be a bit dangerous and could have confused the pack, but other than that he did follow all the rules.

Meanwhile on the back, anyone who's gone flat out on the last corner basically over thought the situation. And they didn't think that Bottas would stall for that much, normally he just goes after like 2 seconds, it's been like that for many GPs. Again, you could say that the green flag/light could be confused between the race actually restarting or it's the end of the SC, leader starts the race, but then again, they were not expecting anything, maybe they should, but they didn't anyway.

So again if people want to blame someone, blame Bottas, and anyone who has gone flat out, or just say it's a racing incident, which to be honest is the more sensible choice.

But I have to say that the race restart needs to be rethought a lot. Maybe a constant speed or forcing the restart in a particular location told to everyone beforehand. But yeah, all of that said, could be summed up by a shit show really.

Listening to these team radios, it seems as though the back-markers were just coming around onto the straight, saw the green lights before anything else, and put their foot on the accelerator, thinking the field ahead had also taken off.

Of course, they hadn’t, and by the time the back markers reacted, it was too late! Result was inevitable carnage.

So, I’m going to call it as none of the drivers being at fault, but whoever decided it should be a rolling start! They are notorious for this kind of accident (think Nascar or Indy 500).

I understand they were concerned about cars overheating, because it was hot, but it may have been worth risking it, as the shunts those 4 drivers had were pretty big 🙁 It could have really ended in tears.

Whereas with a standing start, even if a car doesn’t leave their grid position due to overheating, at least other drivers have a chance of avoiding that car, and in the event they did collide, it wouldn’t be at such a high speed.

I’ve only ever been in one rolling start and it’s like everyone loses their mind and the red mist descends big time! It’s totally fucking nuts!!

Makes me wonder what Charlie Whiting would have done in this situation.

This is just my observation 😊 Feel free to differ 😉
