Cars
Craw Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

This machine never stops
This engine compresses space
This processor never slows down
This system completes the tesseract
I'm sick of being strapped to this thing
This program controls the electrodes
These electrodes excite the interference
This interference fucks up the flow
From short to medium to long-term memory
I'm sick of being strapped to this thing
This endless acceleration
Shapes the perpetual present
This terminal velocity
Shapes the paramnesia
Velocitizer - get me off of this thing
Accelerizer - get me off of this thing
Through the window
In transit
Good citizens
Fly on by
Temporarily
Can I , will I
Register their names
Before I
Again submit
This machine never stops
This engine compresses space
This processor never slows down

This system completes the tesseract
I'm sick of being strapped to this thing

Overall Meaning

In Craw's song Cars, the lyrics describe a person who is frustrated with being constantly attached to a machine that never stops. The machine, which is described as having an engine that compresses space and a processor that never slows down, seems to be controlling the person's thoughts and actions. The person is sick of being "strapped to this thing" and wishes to be free from it.

The lyrics also describe the negative effects that the machine has on the person's memory and thought processes. The program that controls the electrodes that excite interference and disrupts the natural flow of memory from short-term to long-term. The endless acceleration of the machine shapes the present moment, leading to paramnesia or the inability to distinguish new memories from old ones. The person desperately wants to get off this machine and escape the constant acceleration and control.

The song is a commentary on our society's dependence on technology and how it can have negative effects on our mental and emotional well-being. The machine described in the lyrics can be interpreted as a metaphor for the constant stream of information and stimulation that we are bombarded with in our daily lives. The lyrics suggest that this constant stimulation can overload our senses and disrupt our natural processes, leading to a loss of control and a feeling of being trapped.

You know what? Every time I aligned my car when seemed to need it, was ever worse. Unless it has 200.000 miles or hit a hole or something, it's a waste of time and money.

Truth HurtzandHealz

Not exactly "crab walking," but close. When they make one that goes completely sideways to parallel park, then it would be legit, "crab walking." Still pretty cool.

Truth HurtzandHealz

@Little Jackalo Ok. Do some "serious redesign," and make it go 90 degrees so it's officially "crab walking."

Little Jackalo

@Truth HurtzandHealz without serious redesign to steering and propulsion, it would be impossible to get it to go sideways as you describe. Wheels can't turn a full 90° from center. It's impossible.
