1) In the fall of 2007, five friends came together to play metalcore and crossover thrash in vein of Slayer, Ringworm, and Hatebreed: Creatures was born. The band wrote an incredible demo and played shows non-stop through out Southern California and made sure no warehouse, garage, or venue was safe from their ferocious live performance. Locals wanted more, and they got it when Creatures dropped their debut s/t 7" at Sound and Fury 2008; playing an explosive opening set that blew everyone out of the water (and some out of conciousness). Creatures made their mark on the masses. In winter of 2008, Creatures teamed up with So-Cal locals, Downpresser, to release a split for So-Cal based label, Fineprint Records, followed by a winter tour to support their efforts.
Creatures' debut full length, "I, Lucifer" focuses on the band's metal roots and pushes their sound further to the limit. Face melting solos, heavy-pulvurizing riffs, and extreme speed is sure to provide something for everyone. With lyrics of depression, anger, and rage, this album is sure to keep your head banging.
Creatures' "Vesuvius" is set to be released January 3rd 2012 on Twelve Gauge Records

Morning Dawning
Creatures Lyrics

The morning is over
And I can't look into your eyes
A cold November morning
A shivering new dawning
I watched your energy slide
It's sad to see it dying
Now three tears have fallen from my eyes
A dampened need for fire
A kindled desire
The power just vanished from your eyes
This feeling is crying
The sea it is sighing
For spirits that just give up and die
The dawning is over
The mourning is over
I still can't look into your eyes
The song "Morning Dawning" by Creatures is a somber reflection on a lost connection between the singer and the subject of the song. The opening lines create a sense of finality, with the morning and dawning being over, representing a loss of hope and freshness. The singer cannot look into the other person's eyes, indicating their relationship has ended or is irreparably damaged. The cold November morning serves as a bleak backdrop for the sadness that permeates the song.
The second verse introduces the idea of losing energy and vitality, with the fire that was once lively now dying out. The three tears that fall from the singer's eyes convey sadness and despair. The dampened need for fire and kindled desire seem to reference the idea that the spark between the two has fizzled out, leaving them feeling unfulfilled and unhappy. The power that once existed in the other person's eyes is gone, representing a loss of passion and motivation.
The chorus speaks to a sense of resignation and loss, with the sea sighing for spirits that give up and die. The mourning being over indicates acceptance of the lost connection and a willingness to move on, even though the singer still cannot look into the other person's eyes. Overall, "Morning Dawning" is a poignant and emotionally charged song about the end of a relationship.
