Cressida Lyrics

Down down, down down, down down
Need of all this peace long of old
Down down, down down, down down
Coming over land in the sky
Down down, down down, down down
Filling up the air with the sound
The lyrics to Cressida's song Down Down are quite metaphorical and open to interpretation. The phrase "Destiny is found in the world" seems to suggest that one's fate or purpose in life can be discovered by interacting with the world around them. The repetition of "down down" throughout the song creates a sense of descending or sinking, perhaps suggesting that one must delve deep into the world to truly find their destiny.
The second line, "Need of all this peace long of old," is a bit more cryptic. It could mean that humanity has always longed for peace, but has yet to achieve it. Alternatively, it could mean that peace has been needed for so long that it feels like it has always been elusive.
The final two lines, "Coming over land in the sky / Filling up the air with the sound," suggest a sense of arrival or arrival of a force that fills the air with sound. It's unclear what this force or sound might be, but it could symbolize a moment of realization or enlightenment.

What a great, unique album this is. I came across it after I thought I had discovered the best of what the era had to offer, but I still have a lot to learn.
