Return
Crisis Dance Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I hold the gun discreditively wrong
It's troubling me, let's just try to escape
In my cell I hit against my mind...enough!
Just wake up talking

I return to break the wall
By my side I see them all
Another lie - the explanations always change
I thought it twice
And only now I've realised
I can't believe I've got the thing I've never used till now
Sometimes...I wake up talking

I return to see them all
Hello...a long ago...they've gone

Never try to stop us, don't believe in lies
Don't take things for granted, always pay the price

Listen to the silence, leave your past behind
Absolutely nothing... Open mind!

I like how Genesis in the original, emphasizes the word "abhors" during his dialogue. I know in the context that he is reciting lines from a play, but how he says them gives life. You feel the world threw away him just by emphasizing that word.

While in the new remake.. he's just saying it. He sounds like he's trying to be elegant, but it is not working out 😂

And Zack's reaction in the new one, he sounds like that one kid in the back of the class that just hit his purity that just got super annoyed by one person who got a fact wrong. Like, "Umm actually " energy. It sounds like I'm complaining, fair enough, but I can't help but to laugh at this because I can't unhear this from my head 😂

Their voices for Zack and Genesis could've performed a whole different character, but not these two

*EDIT*: This is my first time in their world of Final Fantasy besides 16, and I just heard his voice from Intergrade (and the Rebirth trailer), going to play that soon, but his voice actor's performance sound far better than he did here.

Original Zack feels so natural man. The performance, direction and of course the writing, all makes Zack feel like a real human being in the original game.

@RS22NDSQUIRREL

Yup. I feel bad for the new actor. Expectations way too high. No comparison

@anathemasoul8393

Neither of them are good

@pliskin5161

@@RS22NDSQUIRRELnah you guys are just garbage human beings fuck off to another franchise

@Loryuo

@ImprovingMotivations from what i heard they were directed to voice it in this way. I don't really understand why they were directed that way though

@nikkoa.3639

@@Loryuo Square has been doing that with their FF remakes recently. Don't know why, maybe the anime style made them want to compensate with equally exaggerated voice lines (which doesn't need to)

Original Zack's "Shut up I'm warning you" goes so hard, Reunion Zack's sounds like a kid's last one-liner before he gets stuffed in a locker

@arzfan29

Original sound like someone that failed voice acting class

@willconn3620

@arzfan29 If that's the case, then Reunion sounds like some dude they picked off the street, because it's somehow worse

@TheRealKwisty

@arzfan29 This just sounds more like a salty comment cuz you don't like that people don't like the new VA. The MAJORITY of the fanbase has agreed that they do not like the new voice actor as Zack. Does that mean that he's a bad VA suddenly? No. Does it mean that people are less likely to play the game in english? Yes. Jesus, it's simple, why get so emotional with something that is more a critique on the people that hired him for a job that he didn't fit for.
