Burn
Crobot Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Blood full of chaos, mouth full of mud
Bullets gaining rust that I left in my gut
Head like a storm, crawling like a worm
Through thoughts of madness to watch it fall hard
Life of the funeral, harvest the young
New graves keep the taste of blood on my tongue

Tired eyes never see through the sleep and disease
The remedy stings like a killing machine
Bones break the silence by grinding my teeth
Got a front row seat to watching the world burn

Venomous poison flooding my lungs
Baptize the moon while I drown in the sun
Celebrate the losers from zero to one
The weight of a feather is the weight of a ton

Tired eyes never see through the sleep and disease
The remedy stings like a killing machine
Bones break the silence by grinding my teeth
Got a front row seat to watching the world burn

Tired eyes never see through the sleep and disease
The remedy stings like a killing machine
Bones break the silence by grinding my teeth
Got a front row seat, I'm watching
Tired eyes never see through the sleep and disease
The remedy stings like a killing machine
Bones break the silence by grinding my teeth

Got a front row seat to watching the world burn
To watching the world burn

Overall Meaning

In Crobot's song Burn, the lyrics paint a vivid image of chaos and destruction. The first line sets the tone with "blood full of chaos, mouth full of mud," highlighting a sense of violence and filth. The following line, "bullets gaining rust that I left in my gut," could be interpreted as a metaphor for emotional wounds that fester over time. The singer's head is described as a "storm" and they are "crawling like a worm," suggesting a sense of powerlessness and turmoil. They are persevering through "thoughts of madness" to witness something fall apart.

The second stanza continues with a theme of destruction and decay. The singer mentions "venomous poison flooding my lungs," an image of drowning in something toxic. They describe "celebrat[ing] the losers from zero to one," implying that they take pleasure in the downfall of others. The line "the weight of a feather is the weight of a ton" could represent the feeling of being weighed down by something small yet significant.

The chorus repeats throughout the song, reinforcing the singer's sense of fatigue and disillusionment. They have "tired eyes" from "sleep and disease," and the remedy for this seems to be equally painful. They grind their teeth to break the silence and cope with the chaos around them. Ultimately, they have a "front row seat to watching the world burn," indicating that they feel powerless to stop the destruction around them.

Overall, Burn is a song about surviving in a world full of chaos and destruction. The singer is surrounded by violence, toxicity, and decay, but they are still able to persevere through it. However, the chorus implies that this survival takes a toll and comes at a great cost.

I'd like to thank Crobot for the greatest live performance I've ever experienced, when they opened a few years ago for A Perfect Circle in Orlando. These guys were absolutely killing it and the audience went from not paying attention (because no one ever does for the openers in this town) to getting into it and throwing horns only a few songs in. All heads were banging along with the music in unison when all the sudden my dude starts singing "Hail Lucifer! Hail Lucifer!" and half the crowd just paused, mid-groove in silence. My boy and I instantly bust out laughing at the visible confusion on everyone's face. As if they we're like, "This shits banging, but Idk if I'm down with all the beelzebub stuff." 😂 We thought it was the ballsiest, most rock n roll thing we'd ever seen and instantly fell in love with this band. Had my boy and I chanting "Hail Lucifer!" All night long lol. I've absolutely loved this band ever since. Thank you guys so much for that experience. And keep lugging those big ol' balls all over the stage my dudes 🤘

Criminally under appreciated. I have been to well over 60 shows. All genres, but mainly metal. Saw them with The Damned Things in Pittsburg. The amount of energy from the band, and the level of showmanship from the lead singer was impressive. Easily top 5 live bands I have seen. Right up there with Lamb of God, Clutch, Doyle and few others.
