World Below
Crown Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

A wicked heart prowls through the void
That lives dormant deep inside
In violent rapture now behold
The harvester of souls
At the seven gates the seal is broken
As sulphur dreams unfurl
Into the depths of no return
Your souls will be cast to burn
Suicide - Dead inside - Inject your horrors' blood
Hell unfurls - On the world
But no-one seeks the cause
To decide if the life is wirth all its' pretend
Hollow shells - Left to die
Seeking still the spark of life
As I cast aside the chains of life
A world below for us - Born to die
It takes a poisoned heart to see the light
Buried deep inside
Spewing forth the burning black
Suicide - Dead inside - Inject your horrors' blood
Hell unfurls - On the world
But no-one seeks the cause
To decide if the life is wirth all its' pretend
Hollow shells - Left to die
Seeking still the spark of life
As I cast aside the chains of life
A world below for us - Born to die

Afraid inside - Born to die - Left aside
Staring down into a World Below

As I cast aside the chains of life
A world below for us - Born to die

Overall Meaning

In Crown The's song "World Below", the lyrics delve into the darkness that lies within each of us, waiting to be unleashed. The first few lines describe the wickedness that lives inside us, waiting for the right moment to take control. The "harvester of souls" is a metaphor for death, which can come suddenly and without warning. The next lines describe the opening of the "seven gates", which could be seen as a reference to the seven deadly sins. As these sins "unfurl", the souls of the guilty are cast into eternal damnation.

The chorus describes the lack of accountability that exists when it comes to death and destruction. "No-one seeks the cause" implies that there is no one to blame for the horrors that take place, and that everyone is complicit in their own demise. The lines "decide if life is worth all its pretend" and "hollow shells seeking still the spark of life" suggest that life itself may not be worth the struggle, and that many people are searching for something more meaningful.

The last part of the song is a plea for release from this world. "As I cast aside the chains of life, a world below for us - born to die" suggests that death may bring freedom from the struggles of life. The final lines "staring down into a World Below, as I cast aside the chains of life, a world below for us - born to die" reinforce this idea of a world below, beyond life, where freedom from pain and suffering can be found.
