i feel like this song is about trauma. after coping with a traumatic event, this is exactly how i felt - exactly as the lyrics in this song.

echo in the mirror means the memories and feelings of the event that you carry with you, causing you to not be able to handle it, and therefore "the trembling fear is more than i can take" means the crippling anxiety trauma leaves you with.

I love this song. My favorite part is right after the first "echo in the mirror" where the voice becomes an instrument. Very 5th element. The contrast achieved by the juxtaposition of the piano with chiptune, and how it switches back and forth several times with short interludes fits the theme of switching channels on TV. Genius.
