As a solo artist, his most successful song was 1990's "Call Me D-Nice", a self-produced track built around an organ sample from The Turtles' "Buzz Saw."
D-Nice was also known as "The Human TR-808", and through his beatboxing skill and friendship with DJ Scott La Rock, would join the Bronx-based Boogie Down Productions. He released two solo albums, 1990's Call Me D-Nice and 1991's To Tha Rescue, both through Jive Records.
Nowadays, D-Nice is both a DJ for high-profile events and a photographer, but his true passion is for the latter. He is currently in a relationship with actress Malinda Williams.

1987 but never released until 2006. Would have loved to have had this in '87!

so did KRS just take over BDP once scott la rock was out the way?
@TheOldSkoolCollective
BDP as a group essentially ended because KRS-One began recording and performing under his own name rather than the group name. Lee Smith, who has co-producer credit on the original 12” "South Bronx" single, was the last to be inexplicably jettisoned by KRS-One and the future new label after Scott's death.
@jamesrutherford1475
@@TheOldSkoolCollective I understand that, I'm really curious about the changes while under the BDP banner... From the initial concept with Scott that basically died with him on the first album, with the D-Nice features not getting released, to the joining and later jettisoning of Ms. Melodie, Harmony, Jamalski and the rest of the gang.

@@TheOldSkoolCollective Never heard abot Lee Smith tho, thank you!
