The light of my life is going out tonight
In a pink champagne Corvette
The light of my life is going out tonight
Without a flicker of regret

The artist uses the metaphor of a burning flame (the light of my life) to describe his relationship with a lover. He sings about the light of his life fading away in a pink champagne Corvette, which could signify the end of the relationship. The car could represent a symbol of freedom and escape, which could mean that his lover is leaving him and moving on without any remorse.

If I had a nickel for every 2022 airplane movie starring Glenn Powell as one of the pilots I’d have 2 nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice

I knew Tom Hudner. I was his Navy liaison during the Korean War Memorial dedication in the mid-1990s, and accompanied him to the dedication and Congressional reception. I asked him what drove him to risk his life in this say. He said simply, "Jesse was my friend." Wish he (and Jesse) were around to see this. Looks like a great movie.

A class act. I'm glad there's a ship bearing his name. Proud to have attended its christening.

Exemplars of those who wear the uniform. Five of the six men in three generations of my family -- my father, my older brother, myself, and my two sons -- served Naval aviation.
