Since You Been Gone
DARUSO Lyrics

All the words are coming back to haunt me
Returning now in black and white
No escaping from feelin' empty in the night
I remember how *you used* to hold me
Before the rush of lovin' died
What we had would still be mine
Since you been gone
The nights are so lonely and oh, it's in your arms
Where I belong
How did i lose you? *and Why* did I let you go?
And now you're gone
Don't know where to run to and oh, without your touch
I come undone
You know *I been* waiting
I'm here and I'm holding on
Since you been gone
Now our dreams are just a distant memory
My world has come crashing down
And the silence in the air reminds me
You're not around
It's so hard for me to say it's over
So hard for me to walk away
But how can i keep pretending that I'm okay?
When i miss you more each day
Since you been gone
The nights are so lonely and oh, it's in your arms
Where I belong
How did I lose you? and Why did I let you go?
And now you're gone
Don't know where to run to and oh, without your touch
I come undone
You know *I've been* waiting
I'm here and I'm holding on
Since you been gone
DARUSO's song Since You Been Gone is a heartbreak ballad about regret and loss. The song is written from the perspective of someone who is haunted by memories of a past love. The opening lines "All the words are coming back to haunt me / Returning now in black and white" suggest that the memories of this love affair are vivid and painful. The singer then goes on to reminisce about how their lover used to hold them, before "the rush of lovin' died". The lyrics communicate an intense feeling of regret and longing for what was lost.
The chorus "Since you been gone / The nights are so lonely and oh, it's in your arms / Where I belong / How did I lose you? and Why did I let you go?" expresses how the singer feels lost and alone without their partner. The lyrics suggest that the singer is struggling to understand how the relationship ended and why they let their partner go. The line "It's so hard for me to say it's over" further emphasizes the singer's reluctance to accept the end of the relationship.
The verses of the song describe how the singer feels since the relationship ended. The lyrics "Now our dreams are just a distant memory / My world has come crashing down" suggest that the singer's hopes and aspirations have been shattered. Although they try to pretend that everything is okay, they are unable to hide their sadness. The line "When I miss you more each day" highlights how the singer's feelings for their former partner have not faded away with time.
Overall, Since You Been Gone is a powerful expression of heartache and regret. The lyrics are emotive and relatable to anyone who has experienced the end of a relationship. Despite the sadness and pain expressed in the lyrics, there is also a sense of hope and resilience in the singer's determination to hold on and wait for their lover's return.
