I really liked this movie. It has a good story, visual effects and a great cast. Very interesting, and you never predict what will happen. I also cried in a very emotional scene where the character Mae talks to Nick through someone else, knowing that Nick would go into this person's memory in the reminescence machine. Great performances by both lead actors and what a beautiful chemistry they have. I don't know how well this movie did, or didn't, but I really appreciate when all elements of a movie are carefully crafted and when actors have versatility.
I also think that it is targeted to somewhat mature audiences and because of the current situation most people in this age range might be avoiding going to theaters and prefer to watch at home through a streaming service.

I've been doing that for that last 30 years .. 5he only thing that makes me to go to sleep after hours of lying down not fallin asleep is to think of mines or my friends bball games back from 2006 2007 ..wich I have a couple game tapes eich I've seen a few hundred times ... but I remember of basketball move or crossover or a nice assist or a nice bucket scored .. from the 1st quarter 2nd 3rd etc... and I know them by heart .. like dribble with the left hand or where the defender was etc.. and I just repeat them and it makes me fall asleep , sometimes I gotta switch a memory every couple seconds from my exes or basketball games until I fall asleep ... its as if the memories part of my brain is what takes away my anxiety and make me fall asleep ... if I think about the present I would just stay awake for hours! I would have the chorus of a song I listened to that day or the day before and it would just replay in my head over and over the same lyrics and I would think of 3 things at the same time , and sometimes challenge myself to see if my conscience can think of 4 or 5 things while 5he chorus plays in the background and have multiple voices in my head ... my anxiety is just too much !! I've had that problem since I was in elementary school, I would go to sleep at luke 10pm and would stay awake laying in my bed until 5am just remembering my day or the day before and what a classmate said to me , like the sentence and words and what I replied back, or what I could've replied back and it would've change something in my day a different scenario... It was just crazy!!!

i can count the films i cried on with one hand and I've watched and critique a number of films over the years. perhaps, this just got me on the right time at the right moment.

Hugh Jackman delivered, as always. Rebecca and the other supporting characters also did an impeccable job. although the plot is lacking in depth and dimension, the ending saved it for all i care.

People should keep in mind this is a neo noir film not an action film. The music and visuals are amazing. Some of the lines seemed forced, but the emotions conveyed without words came off well. Beautiful movie, not for everyone, but I particularly enjoyed it. May see one more time in the theater.

Movie is phenomenal and a slow burn. You don't need to be brilliant but if you know the greek mythology Jackman references in the movie you will appreciate a lot more. I also really appreciated one of the last scenes with Mae and Cyrus. It is very very powerful if you understand every detail of what was going on.

I saw this recently in cinema and it's one of the few memorable movies of this year, if you allow yourself to be fully immersed into it's dark story. Besides the "Inception" references others noted , I've also got some "Strange Days" vibes, the one with Ralph Fiennes made in 1995. One thing is for sure: Hugh Jackman he's such a great actor and really knows how to pick his scenarios (He's also in great shape too). The chemistry with Rebecca Ferguson character is surprisingly good. Thandiwe Newton she's also pretty decent with the part she got. Go see it ! :)

The concept is a bit similar to Strange Days, where the business of escaping reality through technology that addictively recreates past memories is booming. There's a bit of a mystery in that one too that involves involves the main character needing to search for clues in the memories. In any case though, it's Huge Jackman so I'm there. I always enjoy psychological thrillers and sci-fi, so we're off to a good start.

Just watched it and admittedly... It's cheesy. They take themselves suuper seriously. But it's a beautifully tragic story. The visual and musical story telling to go along with it are done really well.

100% agree with both. Personally, as big and amazing as he is, I feel he still isn't recognised to the extent someone like Leonardo Dicaprio is and Hugh Jackman definitely deserves to be.

He is set to do the film adaptation of THE SON, the second story from a trilogy of plays in French by Florian Zeller, who recently won an Oscar for Adapted screenplay for The Father ( same movie where Anthony Hopkins won for Best Actor). After that, Jackman will return to Broadway in December for the revival of The Music Man.

So inspires the installation and cinematographicity of frames and sound design ..., the trailer already impresses, I hope the film itself will keep the same atmosphere.
Just ready for two hours to look at this scene with Hugh, traveling to the subway, of course, but also it is impossible not to mention that both heroines and a colleague-friend and the passion of the main character are stunning actresses as well.
I hope one day I will take part in the shooting of such a picture
