Absolutely love that Distortion effect. Such an absolute blast of fun and this is a great demo! I believe attaching a midi keyboard controller will allow the parts to be turned off and on (using one of the lower octaves of a 61-note keyboard)

Same. After decades of synths, drum machines and keyboard gear, bought the keyboard DJX and incorporated it quickly into my setup. Was super fun. Instant song creation. Always inspiring to play and groove against. Sold that, and now looking around for this smaller version. A secret weapon when connected to analog synth gear.

I can't wait to find one of these and open it up and circuit bend. I'm a mad scientist with a soldering gun and screwdriver. Wish it had a USB drive to load or import music on and samples, but the presets are cool anyway. Patch those filters in and bypass the need to hold down the switch! That'd be the first trick, I would try.

I still have the keyboard version of this. I haven't plugged it in for ages though. The mark one was much better and I do have the mark one still plugged in at my studio. The beats in the mark two can still be used though and you've done a good job in presenting it in this video

@Keegan Konsor I've never tried, but the datasheet says there is 4 tracks in a pattern if I remember well... Find and check the datasheet !

also you can reprogram the midi chips inside with your own samples

@Keegan Konsor you can't do that as such , you can reprogram the existing patterns with the pattern launcher software "the disc screwed to the scratch pad" , you can do stuff with midi but it's very limited

I used an Oxygen 8 to individually control the volume of all parts. Also reverb. Much better the preset mix control, also freed up the 'scratch' controller.

Yeah you can strip it right right down. I think you spin the cd backwards. I had one of these years and years ago and spent absolutely hours n hours on it as a teen in the early 2000s

I have one of these and it's not that cool you can't program your own because it's all a bunch of Beats that are programmed which would be fine if there wasn't Melodies also on top of them .. it's basically just a bunch of Beats already programmed into it that you can like add effects to certain parts and generic fake scratches save your money on this one the djx keyboard is pretty cool though.

@MIDI Fun , I agree with you. The DJX2b can be resampled, reversed, pitch shifted and new loops created with it to be used in new music compositions. It just depends on your imagination and talent. 🤘🎶🛸

Not so bad. Most of music gear is "useless noise machine" if you don't use it properly and don't use external FX. DJXIIB has a lot hidden features if you explore the unit. It is able to receive, memorize and play a user generated .mid patterns/loops: 5 slots x 10 variations.( copying 5 patterns from PC takes about 10 sec.) Also some of the factory drum sets and preset loops are not so bad (after muting 4 tracks of cheezy basslines and melodys of course)
