The lyrics to DJ Hooligan's song B.O.T.T.R.O.P. are an ode to the city of Bottrop, located in the western German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The song starts with the artist counting off in German - "one, two, one, two, okay" - before addressing the audience with a rhetorical question: "why do we need Frankfurt, Berlin, or Cologne? New York, London, or Rotterdam? When we have our beautiful Bottrop." The song then repeats the phrase "Kommste nach Bottrop, krisse aum Kopp drop" - which roughly translates to "if you come to Bottrop, your head will drop" - several times.
